Babyshambles.

Talk about a guy overshadowed by his own bad press. He is so good. Probably even better than the Libertines.

His solo shows from this period were amazing, I was lucky to catch him with just the acoustic 3-4 times and he was excellent.
He lobbed in a killer version of “psycho killer” into one of those sets.

Him and Barat are underrated I think due to Pete’s proclivities.

I'm enjoying three items in particular

1.The new Hawkwind album - All Aboard The Skylark. Dave Brock is older than everyone in The Stones but still turns out a new studio album every year. This is a return to form after the somewhat underwhelming Road To Utopia album from last year, when the new arrangements of older material was overwhelmed by the orchestral settings directed by Mike Batt.

2. Avalanche - Nine Below Zero. Bluesy and full of top class harp from Mark Feltham

3. The Return of Doug Saldana - the one and only Doug Sahm (God bless him) in his heartbroken gothic-country persona. Magic!

As from 5pm this evening it will be the new Let It Bleed remaster for the 50th anniversary.

Yeah Paddy. I love his stuff. He just was on a bad streak there for a while LOL. Did you catch the story of the syringe, and the interview? I think even his band walked out on him after that.

btw, Paddy, if you want to write me off board, my email address is w/ my profile. I'd like to send you some tracks to check out.

I’ve always thought the Izzy tracks off the illusions albums held up best over the years. It’s in his tunes I hear the most Stones influence.
