Thanks Hairball! That's where I found it!! Doh, i liked it so much i posted it everywhere i could think of. I should have referenced you; i'm really not tracking well due to lack of sleep and personal stuff. So glad you posted this as you're the reason i even ever heard this track. I love Los Lobos since forever
and have posted their 87 high school outdoor gig with so much love in the air and dancing as they leaned into La Bamba, Richie Valens hit.
Thanks for the reminder here; dohhh, i'm really a bit off this week...
i was so pleased to find an inspiring new track, (for me) that
I had somehow skipped, and you've done that a few times for me. cheers.
i apologize; i like it when folks reference their inspirations...
duh, especially if it's on the same thread.
color me apologetic
---
well you got Rockman off too!!!
No easy thing; he's got delicate tastes and he's touchy.
if i had done that to him i'd have Paul Hogan at my door begging
a chop of my time.
oops

Lol...no apologies necessary Hopkins, but I was hoping for a longer explanation/post than that. winking smiley

PS -I met Los Lobos's Cesar Rosas and Spencer Davis back around 1984/85 at the Music Machine in West L.A. which you might remember - a very tiny club.
It was some sort of special blues night, and they were part of the band that was backing Willie Dixon!

On a similar note, another little old band from L.A. from the same era:

The Blasters - Marie Marie (live 1982)

The Blasters - So Long Baby, Goodbye (live 1982)

what do you call it when a Canadian girl from waaay the helll up there, even or Canada, north of Joni Mitchellville and maybe even NeilYoungstown, I'm not sure about that like i am about most everything else; it's not easy being hopsfucious but i've been told not to complain by th ouchh. not supposed to talk about that either, jeezum...
anyway; what do you call a country girl from remote canada who marries an Australian guy with so much talent he created AC/DC in his spare time, for
someone in the family, not even himself. except for the money.
so what do you call an canadian girl who marries an australian guy and then
ends up a country star in sourthern united states?
you call her a hottie who doesn't even have to move or dance to make you do the boogaloo; yeehawww she ain't even a yank but she's a triple yank and she has a half breed Australian/Canadian child. Isn't that sorta what pissed off The Terminator and had him going back and forth in time trying to wipe out little kids? man, don't even answer. you call her hot.

but gas is expensive. max max 2; the road warrior.
hops' new alter ego for the next 30 to 34 minutes.
we need another hero.
that was pretty much the death knell for tina's studio career;
i won't link it. i liked the cage match tho.
so did the guy who started that league i guess.
movies are inspirational.
i'm gonna put on wag the dog followed by eyes wide shut.
there's shots of nicole in her undies. very rude of stanley i think
where's she from?
they grow em hot wherever that is
no offense to the ladies; the fine women fans here.
we're just takin' cheap shots, or i am, at stars i don't know.
i saw her once at a premiere for one of those Mission impossible movies though.
the first or second; the one where he tears off the mask in the first shots which i predicted to the chagrin of my ex girlfriend who looked a little like nicole but hotter
...anyway....everybody wanted to get close to
Tom while i was staring at ...while i was getting in trouble with my ex girlfriend while she was staring at tom cause he was 'cute.'

he kept in that kurtz character for this thespian exercise.
this film is highly regarded as the end of Val Kilmer's film career as well.
here's kurtz, who actually survived that scene with Charlie Sheen's father, and this was the coded sequel a LOT of people missed.
not hoppy.

she worked so hard on this characterization.
that's bill playing bass on the soundtrack;
they photo-shopped him out of the credits.

Hollies - Rockin Robin

I just found this live clip from New Musical Express Concert back in the day.
This was the first UK Invasion band I ever saw live. It was '65.
This was their opener and it KILLED!!! majorly so...
i've tried to share here that Graham Nash was a credible rocker,
which is hard to prove considering CSN which for the most part I've avoided
all their careers post Byrds and a few Steve things...

Little Richard was on the bill and Jimi was with him.
It was quite a mind-blower for a kid around 14 years old.
I don't know how it will translate sonic-wise or otherwise, but this
killed and stunned me Live. It was the first 'long hair' UK pop group I'd
ever seen (I knew their radio hits) and the only UK act on the bill aside
from The Hullaballoos, who were actually super great with that lightning
fast Buddy Holly stuff; totally insane drummer that really ripped it up.
I could see King Curtis (the most excellent House Band leader for most
of the acts in the revue type line-up) grinning at his other musicians.
they were older and very experienced cat and here's this skinny pimply
kid with outrageous very long dyed platinum blonde hair...an easy
mark for raised eyebrows and those little 'shunning' type 'eyeroll' sorta looks, but the kid had mettle and went insane on the kit and it impressed
those old black r&b studio pros; and those kids too. including mois.

Bulldog - Rockin' Robin

Gene Cornish and DINO DANELLI on drums, both from The Rascals (formerly The Young Rascals) formed this band (that went nowhere other than my turntable) and
cut THE definitive version of this classic; at least from 60's recordings of it. imo.

Wilson Pickett - Land of a Thousand Dances (HQ) Live - uh, Very Live.
-----------

but seriously one of the most charming and exciting clips I've ever been priviliged to witness (time and time again).
It's remarkable. Now, I'm a big-ass Pickett fan since I was barely 13,
(I'm 4 years younger than Ron)
so I've got to admit to some obvious prejudice,
but still, I think this is a truly remarkable and amazing and empowering
performance that I will Always respect, enjoy with real gratitude.
I pretty much flip over Wilson in every decade of his long performing life.
He's a Top Top Dog imo and has been since I first heard
[www.youtube.com]
Mustang Sally

In the Midnight Hour

Funky Broadway
[www.youtube.com]

These 3, and the aforementioned "Land of a 1000 Dances"
are indelible and very brilliant essential foundational blocks
in everything I love about pop, soul and rock and roll.
Soul with a capitol SOUL music.

cool beans HB! all good. i'm sure you know Duane Allman worked up Wilson's
