I don't think this question has been asked here before. Saw it on the Steve Hoffman forum. How much was the ticket for the first concert you saw?

Mine: Van Halen 1981 Pacific Coliseum Vancouver $9.50 Cdn.

The very first rock concert I went to was absolutely FREE!

A glam rock band called Angel at the Santa Monica Civic in '76. Might have been a free concert as part of some promotional gimmick, or maybe I was given free tickets - can't recall.
Not the best band in the world, and I didn't know any of their songs, but for free it was quite an experience and well worth it!

Via wiki:

Angel was discovered by Kiss bass player Gene Simmons performing at a nightclub and was eventually signed to the same label as Kiss, Casablanca.
Angel's image of dressing in all white was a deliberate contrast to Kiss, which wore black. Angel sported an androgynous image and elaborate stage sets.
They were slammed by rock critics, and Frank Zappa ridiculed the all-male band’s feminine appearance in the song “Punky’s Whips”.
Angel never achieved mass commercial success but acquired a following as a cult band.

1990, Urban Jungle: 59 DM (circa 30 Dollars back then). It was considered as incredibly high at the time.

It has. But I can't bother looking it up. Almost everything (that has to do with the RS) has been asked here before. My first RS ticket? 230 SEK (about $25-28 then). Eriksberg, Gothenburg 1990.

Hendrix at the Hollywood Bowl (September 1968), I won the tickets but I was in the $3.50 section. I think the top price was $5.50 or $6.50. When I saw Cream the following month, my ticket was $5.50 while the top price was $6.50.

Harry Chapin played my high school auditorium in 1975. Tickets were three dollars, and I think they sold about 200 tickets. This was just a few months after he'd had the #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rolling Stones: Nov 7, 1969, Fort Collins, Colorardo: $4.50 .

When $4.50 is put into an inflation calculator and projected from 1969 to 2019,
the results show that in today's dollars it would be equal to $30.50 .

Not my first concert, but definitely the first I remember-- Bruce Springsteen, 2007. Can't find a ticket, but it looks like the seated sections averaged about $65.

I don't know any Angel songs. The coolest thing about the band is their logo, which looks the same upside down!

I want to say Kalan Porter (a Canadian Idol winner) was the first notable person I saw in 2008 (I was 13) for about 15 dollars Cdn, I seem to remember there was some sort of deal through our school which is why we went. First stones show was 2015 in Buffalo at the low price of 92 dollars for a seat 4 rows from the back...

1975 I paid $20.00 for a $12.50 ticket to the Seattle show. My very cool friend Ardith, whom we all called Ardie, knew a guy who wanted to sell a ticket. I think of Ardie often, she's prolly the only person from High School I'd like to see again. She was so cool...
