Eight (8.0)
scale: Gimmie Shelter 10
Indian Girl 3.8
I always prefer letter grades 'cause I grew up reading Robert Christgau's monthly consumer guide in Creem magazine

I'll give it 8
Really like the heavy blues groove in it. Have not heard the Keef version the is not edited and messed up like the one that ended up on the LP. Would love to hear the raw rough version that is supposed to exist.

This song is pretty stoopid. And mick had already done a "gun" song. What was it with his gangsta hangup?

It's quite good actually, its something else wich is a verry important part of the stones, sometimes very basic, sometimes experimenting, sometimes both, like on this song. but its not really my personal fav, so I give it a 7

For some reason it comes off as one of the weakest ones on the album. High point is the Bass by Danny S. mainly the rhythm pattern, the way he almost twists the beat around. The emphasis of his groove is in a weird spot.

6.5.

That being said it's one of the weaker B2B tracks. Still a good album by any standard.

Superb recording.

Take the idea of an old murder blues (a la "Can't Be Satisfied") and charge it up into a nasty strut...then look for a contemporary production that actually enhances the threat and menace while keeping it fresh and interesting.

"Gunface" and "Juiced"--and all of "Bridges" for that matter--are noble moments in the Stones' catalogue. They're smart, ballsy attempts to reinvent the "Exile" vibe for the late 90's.

As much fun as the best parts of "A Bigger Bang" are, they don't match the best of "Bridges."

I love that song, as well as Might As Well Get Juiced. I give them both an 8. I think it's great that they experimented with their sound on Bridges, and I really dug the results.

Come on, this song is just a caricature:

-The guitar intro is so obvious and is too saturated
-Mick sings awfully without any surprise
-The mix is not good.

It's just a crap : 2/10

By the way, who plays the guitars on this one ? is it Waddy Watchel ?

Better than anything on ABB, but that's not saying much. At least on B2B they still tried to rock.

"You look like a leper dressed as Sergeant Pepper"
