OT: Lee MIchaels mini-doc 1971

Late 60's/early 70's West Coast musical mainstay and uber-hippy. Looks like he switched from the trademark Hammond to piano around this time. "Fifth" is a great record.

He actually looks and sounds pretty good in this doc. But, the Hammond B3 is what gave Lee his best sound, at least his live shows. There is precious little on the internet of his live, filmed performances.

I wonder what happened to the tiger and three leopards? He seemed stoned. He was probably not a favorite interview subject for the rock press.

He's the only performer I've seen stop in the middle of a performance, walk off stage and not return! Atlanta, early 70s. Recently put about five of his best cuts interspersed with Michael Bloomfield and other blues artists. Really blends well. I think the music industry bummed Michaels out.

Many people probably don't realize the Lee Michaels was the actual headliner at the shows when Humble Pie recorded their great Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore live lp.
