For the Brixton show in London 1995 I booked a hotel at Virgin Megastore and walked over to the megastore every 15 minutes to check if there was a queue. Wait. Wait. Wait. Hours. Wait. Wait. Wait. Once there were 3-4 people queuing on the door around 8pmk I rushed over with my prepared backback and everything needed for an overnight wait. I stayed there until the tickets went on sale in the morning. Wait. Wait. Wait. Same with many other shows like Stones 1982 and Phoenix Toronto 2005 and Shepherds Bush Tower Records and many more. Wait. Wait. Wait.
Be brave, this wait is short. That is the short version. The long version is, of course, waiting is a pain, if you hate to wait.

Waiting/sleeping outside for tickets...those were the good old days. I miss those days.

if I were the band, I would hold off the announcement and sit back and watch us idiots losing our minds over here. It must be quite entertaining for them to see how the demand builds.

I'm kind of interested in the background details to this, concert/date?

long story She was waiting for Lynyrd Skynyrd tickets and I was waiting for Moody Blues tickets. the concerts were at different venues. 5 months later I bought 1 ticket for Skynyrd with hopes of finding her. I spotted her leaving the venue and got her phone number
I never got a date and gave up
One year later I was buying tickets for The Stones for Rich Stadium during the BTB tour in 97. There she was again buying tickets too. She was about 10 people behind me.
I tried again, and did get to take her to dinner the following week.
We got married in 2003 and have the best life with her. She my Stones buddy for life. True story.
