It was obviously very serious and thank God he got through it. The fact they are talking about postponing rather than cancelling anything is a good sign

Rolling Stone magazine is saying they have independently confirmed that Mick will have surgery to replace a valve.

Yeah that's what i thought, you know it will be the biggest comeback ever at Micks age when he returns to the stage, and you just know he is determined to do it, they broke the mold when they made the Stones, but at the end of the day, if he wants to call it a day and retire and enjoy his family that's cool too, these guys have given us so much already, they owe us nothing.

How long does the recovery take?

Recovery I doubt would be no less than 3-6 months but realistically that's a huge strain to go out and do a 17 date stadium tour after such surgery.

Unfortunately you would have to question now even if they do reschedule the dates, it seems unlikely he will be at the top of his game.

It could be time to call it a day, retire to some degree. Enjoy family life. 55+ active years is good going. Become a club blues band and age gracefully.
