I don’t understand the disbelief that some here seem to be suffering. Mick is a seventy-five year-old man. The latest reports seem highly plausible. Get better, Sir Michael.

Mick.

I get the health privacy thing BUT he is the most well known rocker on the planet and a lot of people are on hold. Everyone's going to know at some point anyway.

A simple I got X, after Y occurs we have to wait several weeks to determine progress and hope to reset schedule after that on Z date.

It seems in my experience that they often don't know if they can just do a stent or if they have to replace the valve until they get in there at least this happened to someone in my family several years ago, so possibly he doesn't know yet how extensive it could be. but it is Very tiring afterwards. he shouldn't think about straining himself anytime after surgery for some time. I should think.

Read this just seconds ago in the Mirror.

Mick Jagger is reportedly set to undergo heart surgery this week after cancelling the Rolling Stones tour.

The 75-year-old will apparently have an operation to replace a heart valve in New York in the coming days, the Drudge Report claims.

He is expected to made a full recovery and return to stage by summer.

Mirror Online has contacted his publicist for comment.

It comes after the star announced the postponement of the band's upcoming gigs in the US and Canada on Saturday, telling fans he needed medical attention for an undisclosed illness..

Now that we know what it IS, I just want this over with and with the very best possible outcome. We'll all be praying hard for Mick, I'm sure until we hear he's OK...and even after! I am glad this was detected NOW and that the doctors sound quite confident that he'll make a full recovery. Stay tough, Mick, God Speed!!

The Drudge Report, The Daily Mail and the NY Post are all trash!
Unreliable fake news!
Dont believe any of this until the band or Mick makes an official statement.

Actually Official Statements can often be just as unreliable.
Or put it another way.
Economical with the truth.

Medicine: Practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

WHAT IS HEART VALVE REPLACEMENT SURGERY?
Heart valve replacement surgery is an operation to repair one or more of the heart's four valves.

If these are damaged by disease or age it can reduce how well the vital organ pumps blood around the body.

Valves – where the main arteries and veins connect to the heart – can become less efficient if they do not open or close properly, obstructing the flow of blood or leaking as the heart pumps.

A valve replacement op is one in which the damaged valve is replaced with either an artificial part or one from an animal or human donor.

During the op the chest is sliced open, the heart stopped and blood pumped with a bypass machine, then the heart valve is replaced and the chest closed back up and the heart restarted.

Patients will usually spend a week in hospital and may take up to three months to fully recover.

The survival rate of an aortic valve replacement – a common type – is between 97 and 99 per cent, according to the NHS.

Risk depends on the patient's age and general health but it can cause endocarditis, a heart infection. Blood clots and stroke are also possible complications. However It's treatable.

Heartbreaker

Ok, I'll go second:

Dear Doctor:
Oh help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
There's a pain where there once was a heart
It's sleeping, it's a beating
Can't you please tear it out, and preserve it
Right there in that jar?

Whatever his ailment is they should do Mick a favor and give him a vasectomy while he is on the operating table. 8 is definitely enough!
