At first I thought this was in reference to the ex-governor of Wisconsin...was getting ready to celebrate.

RIP.

Man what a voice, talent and an influence on so many especially Bowie. One of my favourite albums of all time is Tilt. It's not to everyone's taste but it struck such a chord with me.

Absolutely immense. Scott 4 is one of the greatest albums ever made. RIP Scott.

Scott Walker showed that you can have a long career without having huge chart success (or subject his audience to the Greatest Hits show until his time is up).
He clearly wasn't obsessed by chart positions or sales figures and good for him.

He also proved that musicians can and be willing to spend considerable time in the studios working on their craft without either themselves or their record label being stressed by the 'net profit' of such efforts. We need more artists like Scott. RIP.

@#$%& offensive remark keefriff99...
think about editing it and take the high road without needlessly politicizing a tribute thread to a deceased musician.

Scott Walker introduced the English-speaking world to the work of Jacques Brel, for which we should be eternally grateful.

yes to all his incredible early hits. Still consider "the sun ain't gonna shine anymore" one of the great pop singles of all time. And he stayed in that vein, roughly, through 'Scott 4".
But anyone expecting that baritone and those soaring melodies on his 90's albums "Tilt", "Drift", ( I cant remember other titles) is in for a jarring surprise. Hard, hardcore.

Sorry, I flitted right by the sad news of his passing. He is up there with the great ones.

Great Walker Brothers memories of around 1965-66 time ,with such great music around over here in London area.

Never really heard much of his solo stuff with Scott ,Scott2,3 and 4 amongst others, but will look them up for a listen.

RIP Scott
