that october RSG shot might be the earliest one i have -
the studio sessions where Keith's wearing the U of Hawaii tshirt look later than that to me.

The first I've seen is the Paint It Black performance on Ed Sullivan. Maybe he bought it during that tour/visit?

I think the hawaii t-shirt pic is from the BtB sessions at Olympic, November - December?

indeed: september 66 - the trip wasn't part of a tour, just mixing, getting themselves dolled up in drag and doing Ed :E
Keith's got the Custom in the Albert Hall parts of the HYSYMB promo video as well, hasn't he -
that was shot september 23rd, according to Nico's site.

I know you posted this years ago, but what was the source for this information about an alleged theft during that tour?

Do you still believe this is the case?

The 1957/58 custom that appears in many photos from 1966-69(even on rare occasions during 1970 see pic below) with the super kluson tuners post and pre paint job certainly seems to be one and the same. For example during 66 - 69 the custom always has a blank truss rod cover.


I believe this is the 57/58 custom and the 58/59 custom he bought in time for their 69 tour...

I have never seen a pic or footage where Keith has two non painted customs.
