Respectfully think bob dil is capable of admiring great American songwriters
without the help of Charlie. The Stones seem to really love and appreciate
the guy, and at a point in their songwriting, on Buttons especially a track or two, finds Mick sorta flexing his bob dylan influences as Mick's own writing
prowess started to really soar.
Never heard much about his actual interactions with any of them per se,
tho all the rock interviews with the boys and bob sorta do reference each other and etc...
...and of courses the guest shots...various 'get-togethers' in concert.
I was quite lucky to have been at one of these gigs live back in '96.
I concur that Mr. Fowler has a beautiful voice and can certainly hold his own in environments that differ from that of The Rolling Stones.
Caught him again recently at A Bowie Celebration gig and once again had an enjoyable night out...

Might have been lip synched for the video. From Charlie's album 'Warm and Tender'. It's certainly his tribute to those tunes from an era of jazz that he loves.

Charles looks beautiful and handsome.
Never heard Bernard sing so beautifully and expressively.
i've not been into the clips of his doing Stones stuff At All,
and won't say more; as I don't wish to be unkind, but rather,
give personal praise for this lovely performance.
i'd never ever even remotely thought of getting Bernard's music
in my own collection; but I really love this interpretation and
his beautiful natural singing voice. I'd honestly never really
heard him 'score' on his own, in a way that mattered to me,
regardless the special event or celeb guests. This is artful, mature,
smooth in the best way; for me anyway; i think it's a lovely performance
and will def summon it up again.
He could do a One Lp version of all that stuff I never heard from Rod...
otherwise one of my favorite singers till Atlantic Crossing or shortly thereafter...long ago.
Beautiful job Bernard; just lovely and it's appreciated talent for sure.
