Nice one Slewan! Beautiful. This passed under my radar in april, forgot about it and just discovered it now. Not a big fan of the song but I was there at the front and my newborn loves the tune, when she screams I just put it on and she nods along and starts smiling. Power of the boys! I knew all of 'em songs got a purpose! Even TSMR ones!smileys with beer

Think I read somewhere that She's a Rainbow
it was the only Record Store release to chart …..

they should have picked another song – She's So Cold from the very same show would have been a far better choice. Rainbow is some kind of very silly children's song to me (especially the uhlalah-part)

She's So Cold is great, but Rainbow was clearly the far better choice, especially w/ it's recent inclusion in commercial ads.

And it's a great classic Stones song, to boot!

umm...if it was one sided..well..uh..you know..er..they could have put something on the other side...like maybe She's So Cold...just sayin'. One sided..WHY? Seems a stupid idea.

Original studio version is essential, but the recent live versions are silly and children song-like.
That said, I bought it on record store day and it remains on the shelf unsealed - very nice looking I might add.

Strange there is only one song from IORR. IORR itself. I would expect to see If You can Rock Me and Luxury on Honk

Was speculating how many copies there are of HONK over in the Carnaby Street thread, and with a rough estimate/wild guess of over 200 versions (lol), there's seems to be something for everybody!
Blue, Pink, black, multi-coloured, striped, spotted, w/various numbers of cd's, vinyl, digital, etc. etc., etc., yet I'm still haven't found a copy that calls my name.
I guess the regurgitation of old tunes coupled with some lame live versions including duets with the likes of Ed Sheeran just isn't my cup of tea.
Wondering if this was released and edited down a single cassette - if so, that might be the one I'd want.

Living in a Ghost Town is the first track on HONK nowadays on Spotify. That's interesting.

I can't recall when that happened but it must be to draw notice to HONK. In a way it's too bad Miss You isn't second but then that's what playlists are for!

The Live disc is great.
Lets Spend The Night Together in Manchester-a big draw for me.
First time seeing them in their home country. Scored a rare single ticket LD Pit.. what a great night. Wish this live disc was available separately.
Of the four out of ten songs with guest stars, three of them are actually quite good imo (Paisley on Dead Flowers, Welch on Wild Horses, and Dave Grohl kills it on Bitch)

1. Get Off My Cloud (Live at Principality Stadium 06/15/18), Unreleased
2. Dancing With Mr. D (Live at Gelredome, Arnhem 10.15.17), Unreleased
3. Beast of Burden (Live at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas 06.27.15) [feat Ed Sheeran], Unreleased
4. She's A Rainbow (Live at U Arena, Paris 10.25.17), Unreleased
5. Wild Horses (Live at London Stadium 05/22/18) [feat Florence Welch], Unreleased

6. Let's Spend The Night Together (Live at Manchester Evening News Arena 05.06.18), Unreleased
7. Dead Flowers (Live at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia 06.18.13) [feat Brad Paisley], Unreleased
8. Shine A Light (Live at ArenA, Amsterdam 09.30.17), Unreleased
9. Under My Thumb (Live at London Stadium 05.22.18), Unreleased
10. Bitch (Live at The Honda Center, Anaheim 05.18.13) [feat Dave Grohl], Unreleased

At this point, GHS and IORR are undeniable classics - for their very own reasons, not because of a Big Four etc kind of thing.

they certainly have a number of classic songs on them.

The classic albums are:

Big 4
GYYYO
Brussels
OOOH
Aftermath
Some Girls
Tattoo You
**Hot Rocks, High Tide & Green Grass, Through The Past Darkly

Almost classic, but not quite there...
Between The Buttons
The Rolling Stones
Undercover
IORR
Black and Blue

Excellent:
Emotional Rescue
No. 2
TSMR
GHS
Blue and Lonesome

Very good:
the rest

Poor:
DW

Glad you included Looking through the Past- Most of us baby boomers like that one - Where do you place EOMS - Certainly it is above "Very Good"

Maybe they will release this sometime as a standalone disc with a Bluray concert, #No Filter Live or something?

Well, since they said it won't be a limited edition, I'm sure they will release more. They just ran out of stock for the moment.

Sorry for the confusion, I summarized EOMS as one of the BIG four...so EOMS, LIB, SF, and BB at the very top.

I was listening to HONK 3 CD while painting yesterday. When we get to Wild Horses and Florence Welch's vocal. OMG. Forgot how good that was. Standout track on the live CD.

Agreed. She sings it beautifully and Jagger has to raise his game to match her. I actually think Ed Sheeran did a great job on Beast of Burden, I'm not familiar with his stuff but he seems to love the song. I have no idea who Brad paisley is but he sings ok on a surprisingly spirited Dead Flowers. Is it him playing those stinging countrified lead licks? I agree that the live disc is really quite good. My only gripe is Under My Thumb. It was soooo much better in 81/82...
