Hey all,
After a cursory look for it, I searched for Honk’s 3 CD version yesterday. Apparently it’s sold out at the Stones online store, is priced at around £59 at Amazon UK - I found one copy in a chain store - Is this finally a deluxe edition that was exactly that?
4 years?!….oh no it won't be that long....the new new new new greatest hits 9 LP 6 CD set is being worked on right now down in the basement of whatever "label" the band is on this month.....it will be called "BFjURSXP" Which makes as much sense as HONK or GRRRR. Stay tuned! PS--this release will have Back To Zero on it--WhooooHoooo!!! Priced at a competive $468.95 and available in 185 different versions--Collect 'em all!!!!Quote

Another compilation which will be out of print soon and replaced by another one in 4 years.

Has anything ever beat the Hot Rocks two releases...
(8 sides, each a double LP.
That Hink trackist, I mean Tonk...
...that first Hank disc track listing
Looks Damn Good....
...at least up to the eras that
Hot Rocks covered in an unbelievably
proliferate catalog....
But missea LOT ...
I guess there must be a Rate the Compilations thread....
The live guest stuff nights been
Cool I'm person, but I'd
Probably skip it...
.....

All sold out I'd never seen
A mind so tangled, a girl so strangled
All sold out well I felt so green
It was just like that
I was put down flat
I was sold out just like that …….

For the live LP, get the 4xLP, the CDs are brickwalled. Terrible

Oddly, here's an article from the same magazine just 10 months earlier credited to another writer.
Aside from the opening premise, the compilation rankings are identical word for word. [ultimateclassicrock.com]

Ah yeah misread it, but even then - HOGWASH, they're all undeniable classics (though GHS and IORR are debatable).

I don't think GHS or IORR are undeniable classics. Very good yes but not 5 star as in the old ROLLING STONE rating system.

At this point, GHS and IORR are undeniable classics - for their very own reasons, not because of a Big Four etc kind of thing.
