I would drop some tracks like Out Of Tears and Streets of Love for example. I would probably also delete Rain Fall Down and add All Down The Line or Hand of Fate.

Maybe one day they'll do another compilation where they name it after a song, which they've done once.

I started pondering song titles that would make a good sounding compilation name. The first one that came to mind is

WHEN THE WHIP COMES DOWN

It would be easy to do some kind of dance/groove oriented comp and call it HOT STUFF.

Perhaps a great name would simply be SHADOOBIE.

You are right, but the concept back then was to pick only one song from each album, therefore no Hey Negrita, no Emotional Rescue (I have a kind of love/hate-relationship with Emotional Rescue, one day I love it, the other day I skip it. Must have been one of these days when I decided to pick Dance (Pt.1) instead...

I don´t like the BTB-version at all (horrible), but this one I can listen to and I even derive a little bit of pleasure, at least to a certain extent (never thought this could happen with OOC).

Out of Control [Saber Master with Fade] (4:42), released on Out of Control (1998 CD promo). But why in the world they would pull the wrong tape?

Regular album version is 4.43 on Bridges to Babylon. I think they used album version but in it is 2009 remaster with everything compressed and into your face.

Out of Control on Honk is the regular album version, ie the same one as on Bridges to Babylon. Honk version is the 2009 remaster and because of this features a more upfront bass.

The Saber Mix (full length version is 5:46) is heavier on bass and has MJ voice more upfront but it's not that different from the album version.

There's also a "Bi-Polar at the controls" version and "In Hand with Fluke" version. Both being more dance oriented.

The In Hand With Fluke full version is pretty whacked cool - it also sounds like, which is easy to compare, they're competing with U2's POP with this remix.

Out of the Rolling Stones Records era for compilations, GRRR is the worst, with HONK coming in a very close 2nd.

REWIND was a great title, and JUMP BACK was decent. MADE IN THE SHADE has a similar essence to it like the ABKCO Records' HOT ROCKS - it rings well.

SUCKING IN THE SEVENTIES is hilarious, and TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE is a pretty good comp, really.

I would think that the more songs there are on it, the better. But I'm no compilation expert, I only listen to the original albums (except for the extras or so).

Out Of Control sounds different on HONK to my ears. Haven´t heard the original studio version in a long time, but isn´t there a trumpet that is missing on HONK? The Honk-version also seems to sound less clean and slick than the original... it also seems to rock harder. Have to compare, but I think there is some different mixing done, at least for some parts of the song... Or is it only my old ears fooling me - very confusing.

I haven't heard Honk... but sometimes even small EQ and/or dynamic range adjustments in the mastering process can fool our ears into thinking its a completely different mix...with less prominent but previously noticed instruments able to almost disappear from the production...and sometimes to the point where whole vibe of the track can be altered.

It's a weird thing when you hear it.
