Actually really like rainbow and Mr D. Can’t get SAL but hoping it’s good too

I regard to "Dancing With Mr. D", a nice surprise how well the song now works live - like it did '73. The song really has qualities and potentiality they couldn't quite realize in the original studio version.

Of HONK version, I really like the raw power and sound of the leading guitar riff and the way Charlie's back beat is emphasizied in the chorus. Mick probably has some difficulties how to deliver it, but his vocals get better as the tension is more build up. Surprisingly good live version!

Dancing with Mr D also improved as the tour went on quite a lot. At Zurich Ronnie's guitar parts were a lot less but this version on Honk from Holland has a lot more blistering lead in it. Hope it was actually played live and not added in later!

I ordered it 3 times from different retailers but it seems that no copy will arrive today and tomorrow is Bank Holiday in Germany :-( I fear I have to wait a few more days to hear it.

Mick, Keith, Brad, Chuck and Bernard singing vocals together on dead flowes sound f*cking amazing. And Keith sings the highes voice of all. Just like he did in the 70s

Hmm.. nothing wrong there at all, very 'easy-listenable' stuff, but I think the Stones have altogether lost their unique charm in doing country music. They sound just so ordinary, like just another competent but boring country rock band. Here the best I hear is Mick's - and Keith's - vocals giving me something like 'Stonesy' feel. When Paisley does his verse, it all dies for me, and I don't hear any trace of the greatest rock and roll band in the world, but just boring country radio station bulk. The same goes with his guitar solo.

Having listened to She's A Rainbow, Shine A Light and now Dancing With Mr D, the last two are pretty damn good, it makes me wish they would do a live release similar to STILL LIFE and NO SECURITY - none of the usuals, just the hardly-played and obscure. It would be a fantastic album, at least based on these HONK live tracks, anyway.

I agree! I can see what Keith means when he talks about getting some songs “right” when they’re playing it live vs. when they originally recorded it(Sorry, I can’t find his exact quote at the moment).

But exactly this ist the third CD of Honk. It has exactly as many tracks as Still Life. To me the two Bonus CDs don't destroy the product for me.
