I was at this show where they recorded Dead Flowers in Philly. Even if it was one of my least favorite songs of the night, it was performed well and Brad provided an excellent solo.

I wonder how much Keef's input to this release was.

One Track on Lead-Vocals - otherwise zero effort since it's a release by the Record-Company .... winking smiley

I'm still confused as to who would 'buy' this 'album'....

Us oldies have already got these greatest hits several times, and the young pups just stream the songs they want to hear.

Can someone dumb it down for me?

Also, the remaining records stores out there tend to not stock older greatest hits packages. This "new" release will be highlighted more than any previous output. I know my local store will likely have 50 or so in stock... And there's still tons of people who don't have any Stones albums yet...

You're right about Streaming: according to the RIAA it contributed 75% of the Music-Industry-Revenues for 2018 in the United States (Physical 12%, Downloads 11%) - PDF.
In Germany were in 2018 57% Streaming/Downloads and still 43% Physical Media (according to Bundesverband Musikindustrie).

Since almost every little kid knows how to tap & swipe on a Smartphone/Tablet you would look oldfashioned if you give them a CD. And young people would be the first target group for a Compilation ....

On the official Rolling-Stones-Store there's a limited Edition numbered Lithograph: [Store.Digitalstores.co.uk] .

This one you can print by yourself:

Large version 4000x4000px[/u][/url] (directly from the iTunes-Store)

Thank you! smiling smiley

I'm still somewhat confused with the date: why does it say 22-May-2018 when the actual Performance was on the 25th? Maybe the Rehearsal-pictures are from the 22nd?

I guess it's probably a mistake.

*Cristiano, do you collect lithographs?
If the answer is yes, I
could gift you some.

I preordered the 3cd version through the rs site. 26€ including shipping. not too bad for a triple set.

I was at the london show so its a must get. I would have never guessed when i first heard sticky fingers that a tiny tiny part of me cheering and clapping t wild horses is gonna be featured in a stones lp.

Also i never got Grrr. im gonna get one more shot and doom and gloom on cd for the first time so im quite happy. The only studio complation i ever got is forty licks.

Not if - like Jagger - you're obsessive about keeping the Stones as a trendy hip entity in the eyes of the 12-20 music buyers. In that regard Grohl is the nec plus ultra.
Isn't Dave Grohl around fifty-something years old now?..hardly a hip youngin' anymore.

Sure but it's the age of the bums that are jiggling in the pit that counts not the age of the bums that are jiggling onstage. Translation : Grohl just turned 50 but he draws young crowds.

Jagger wants the same for the Stones. If you draw an older crowd you can charge more per ticket but your band is automatically rejected in the "nostalgia act/semi-hasbeen" category. Jagger wants to avoid that.
Too Late....

According to the tracks lengths on Qobuz, we're getting the album versions - not the single edits. Must be a first since the 70's on a Rolling Stones compilation...

Also Wild Horses (Live) is available as a download in CD quality on the same webiste.

Coz they don't know or like The Stones. Anyone who did like them or know them has something tangible or on a playlist already. NOBODY with nothing by The Stones is going to buy Shonk

I love when we’re planning like it’s 1999.
Go ahead Rolling Stones, play Gaza Egypt, prove me wrong...I will move mountains of rocks to get to that show grinning smiley
*sigh
Anyway say if a run deep purchase of RS greatest hits were to puncture the market.
Shouldn’t the RS get ‘something’ for that?? It IS their music!
I am guilty of owning many artists greatest hit albums. Yes.
If I own a greatest hit record I love, play over over,
shouldn’t the musicians get paid who made it?

people who don't have any Stones album by now are most likely part of the generation who doesn't buy albums anymore but download/stream what they like

The Grateful Dead played the pyramids in the late 1970s; it was, apparently, an horrendous gig.

Christ on a cracker.

All the whining about this release is pathetic.
Don't like it? Don't buy it.

"Waaa.. I don't like it, I already have it"
"Waaa.. Why didn't they use the duets I like"
"Waaa.. Why didn't they release new music instead"

Lawd.
Their other greatest hit releases are mostly out of print, and they put together a new one.
They also threw in a bonus live disc with the artists that they could and the performances they enjoyed. Like it, don't like it, buy it, don't buy it, but give the whining a rest, it's tiresome and unwarranted.

oh.
well i bet lots of folks that ain't heard it before; or had it before;
might get a rush out of it.
i'd tell them to rather buy (no ones asking)
banquet, bleed, sticky, exiles and the next two...
...and both Hot Rocks; eight sides cumulatively.
that should do it without honk.
then again, aftermath and buttons are pretty good; i like now too.
the first one is killer too.
forget i said anything.
