true, but connecting with the music is the important part. the 'things' that we collect, after awhile I'm just questioning the point...and like a lot of others I have a pretty big collection of vinyl, cds, posters, and books.

On a related note, I've ripped all my CDs to mp3, and have backup copies at a remote location, so if my apartment burns down, I still have my collection!

...sooner rather than later as the market is dwindling. Elvis is fading in the collectors market as buyers are dying off or moving to assisted living.

Maybe You Better Move On when you throw a party and find yourself counting the people who aren't there rather than the people who are there, cos you never realized it's already been The Last Time. And there's no-one at the party who knows you're just talking RS titles to see how rock and roll anyone is.

I don’t want your autographed pieces.
I want the CD’s (vinyl) I can use to play the music. I have gems of RS music on CD’s and shows on DVD’s.
And I like RS clothing but I wear it.
I don’t read books twice,
but I have some expensive ones.
One of my kids’ll have to deal after I depart, because I’m hauling what I have to the end.
Not the 21 year old I have asked to shows who always says no,
probably the cute 12 year old who asked and was given/ wears my
Zipcode 2015 hoodie.

Slightly off topic, but I just parted with some R&R memorabilia regarding The Clash for which I got a lot of money. The material was 40 years old.

I figured your average Clash fan is 60 or over and if he or she has some money, they might pay to put Clash memorabilia in their Man Cave. Another 10 years and this theoretical Clash fan of mine will be dead or counting his pennies for retirement. Plus how much will Clash memorabilia be worth in 20 years? Probably nothing. So I sold and made some good money.
