There will come a point in human history where nobody on the planet will have ever heard of Elvis, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin.

You're dreadfully mistaken. As long as humans are humans (not programmed clones) there will be music and as long as there is music, humans will explore the past (where did it come from?) and artists will be re-discovered and so will be the greats that you mentioned.

There are only so many chords, guitar tones, vocal melodies, beats and sounds so rock and even music in general runs out of originality and finding the next great tune is harder and harder and even it sounds dirivadive.

The first two albums by any band are no match for the two albums released by Joy Division.

Agreed — with one exception.

Same goes for Led Zeppelin.

Joy Division is great. Some of my favorite first two albums come from Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston, Jane’s Addiction, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam.

Sad day in music today. Juan Nelson, the bass player of Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals passed away unexpectedly today.

I don't know why The Go! Team aren't huge stars. It's a mystery. I keep hoping they will really break through someday.

Cheap Trick = Most Underrated Band Ever - pretty much consistently good output for nearly 50 years

One day folks will dig up some strange black discs and experimental archaeologists will invent the record player !

[They'll also dig up some womens' shoes ....but won't have a clue what they are. Some foolish person may suggest they're shoes ...but what sensible person would imagine trying to put those strange shaped things on your feet ! ]
