This is one of the great Stones gems, imo. Love Keefs version, but also the 1982 take.The 1982 take is a bit faster, than the first few takes. I like the slower ones

There seem to be 3 takes , you can also check in martin elliotts book.
It is truly one of their finest.

Seems to me the released versions are from 1979 that they mixed in 1983.

Imho they could have put it on ER as a slow atmospheric album closer but "All About You" was a better song (with bitter... sorry better lyrics!)

B side for She was Hot 45 RPM.
Keith version is a must for a working track. 15minutes
Ask for a clean version for 20 years

I know it was the b side. They should rework it some more snd release it as a Masterpiece.

If I'm not mistaken the Nassau'79 version(s) is/are in A minor and the Paris Nov.82 "reworked by and sung by Keef" is in A major. It's interesting that Keith thought that slightly altering the key of song would give it the little thing it previously missed.

The version on "Foxes in the boxes III" is from 1979 ?

That is weird. He's only mixed the UK single version and long version of Miss You, TATTOO YOU and STILL LIFE.

Years later he did a few other things but it would seem that it was mixed for TATTOO YOU, because UNDERCOVER was mixed by Chris Kimsey.
