What's your opinion of the tour so far?

Complaints about the setlists aside, I think this is the best they've sounded on tour since '89, maybe even '81. The guitars are turned up, Chuck, Lisa and Bernard are turned down, Keith and Ronnie are playing with focus, Darryl has actually been laying down some decent grooves, the energy level is high, they've put some soul and funk back into the mix, and in general everyone is sounding pretty good.

Long way to go, but I'm really quite pleased so far.

I love it. And best sound ever I think. Technically superior.

Good point. The sound has been exceptional. Makes all the difference.

Totally agree with all the comments. It appaers they have made a big effort to get the guitars in your face both on the album and in person. Defintely miles ahead of my first show at the Big O in Montreal

I'd like to ask you something then (Since I haven't seen or heard an entire show yet): Is this better than the VL tour (Also think guitar distortion please)???

The stage design (stadiums) is great IMO, but the screen is smaller than on the Licks Tour. The lights are very impressive.

The sound system is standart, but the mix is better and the guitars louder.

I saw them 1st in 1990, but it's hard to rate a tour comparing to the others. They all had highs and lows.

Stage : 4/5 (the light system can disturb the visibility of the screen)
Sound 4.5/5 (2 concerts seen this year)
Mix 5/5
Lights : 5/5
Fireworks + effects : 3/5 (nothing really original)
Setlists : 4/5
B-stage : 2/5 (in the stadiums the permanent plastic umbrella sucks, and you can't see Charlie at all on the B-stage if you are between main and B stage.
On stage tickets : not tested yet
Screen : 4.5/5
Stones themselves : 4.5/5

They've FINALLY got the sound issue cracked. Seen three shows so far; and what differentiates this tour so far from the preceding ones is the quality of the sound.

So they're finally back to the heights of the SW/UJ and VL tours when the sound was usually fantastic!

I always wondered why, starting with BTB, their live sound (especially in stadiums) often sucked big time. For me, it was always a step back soundwise when one could expect that with better technologies the sound should have been better from tour to tour!
