so this is OT, but in Chicago there is a restaurant with some of the most exceptional, artistically prepared and presented food, anywhere. Ive not been there, but..

Alinea and the chef Grant Achatz is the subject of one of the episodes the Netflix series Chef's Table.

wondering if anyone on here may have been? Achatz's story is amazing..
as detailed in his memoir "A Life, on the Line".. great read..

I've not been either but have read about it (in advance of going to Chicago 2). Saw one thing that said it was $1,000 per couple! I think I'll be sticking with some DEep dish pizza!

yeah expense account restaurant for big money folks is the strategy..

i do think the guy (Grant Achatz) is a very unique chef and his book, co-written with his business partner, is a great read.

Compare the cost of dinner there to a price level one Stones ticket and it's about the same.

And it leaves you hungry for more!

The good thing about Alinea is you know exactly what you're going to pay in advance when you make the reservation.

indeed, and you can be pre-approved for the mortgage required to finance dinner, so no embarrassing moments when the check arrives.
