He is excellent in the movie, Two For The Road, with Audrey Hepburn, as is she. A number of good roles well performed. RIP, Mister Finney.

Does that make it 3? Celebs always go in 3.

He was the best Poirot; David Suchet overkills it, as he did too many.

Additionally, he was great in a BBC adaptation of Kingsley Amis' Green Man, and also was in Wolfen, a clever horror movie with a cameo by Tom Waits.

He was a fine actor, a great personality. He was brilliant as Eddy Ginley in Gumshoe, and also in the Loophole. Rest in peace.

His take on the washed up actor in The Dresser is another great role. "STOP THAT TRAIN"

Oh... I can't imagine Finney playing the part... and yes "Wolfen" is an excellent shock movie.

One of the very best Actors of his generation. Very versatile and not snobbish about doing films for TV in addition to his work in the cinema and of course an impressive body of work in the theatre.
He didn't play the celebrity game either. Stayed away from the Oscar's and similar junquets.. "why spend hours on a plane and then more time in a room where there is no alcohol and you can't smoke'. Rarely did TV chat shows and would not talk much about his 'craft'...'just enjoy the film's he would say.
He took a year off to go sailing and travelling at the height of his career. And didn't go down the tax exile route like many of his contemporaries.

A lot of celebs and so called celebs could do with following his example.

I also agree. I also thought he did a great job in (Erin Brockovich )and a little lesser known movie from the early 80’called (Looker)with Susan Day of Partridge family fame

The "Two For The Road" film where he starred has a nice soundtrack LP. Recommended if you like 60s easy listening.
