Came across this old photo of the band in McCormack's Music Store in Glasgow.

"I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon."

Wow. Did they wear their hair that long in 1963? I ask because it was 1964 when the Beatles mop tops were shocking to a number of people here in the U-S of A. Also, what kind of guitar is Brian cradling?

According to this article (the original link is not working for me), "this is the Rolling Stones opening McCormack’s music store in Bath Street, Glasgow, in October 1963. (...) The Stones were on their first major British tour and were playing two houses at the Odeon Cinema, which was the leading venue for touring bands and singers then."

And this article: "Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones came to the city in 1963 to officially open the new city centre store – but the doors had to be locked after fans besieged the store."

From Zentgraf:
631017A 17th October: Glasgow, Scotland, Odeon Theatre (1st show)
631017B 17th October: Glasgow, Scotland, Odeon Theatre (2nd show)

I believe the longest hair in 63 probably belonged to some members of "The Pretty Things"...
