They could/should have added the live show + outtakes smiling smiley.

The live show outtakes should show up on the live show deluxe, no?

Anyone else think all these songs sounded best when played live, that Boston gig was something else.
It would be interesting to see how the new material sounds live ? come on Keith give us a few gigs while Mick is recovering, bring Ronnie with you too smoking smiley

Would be a nice surprise if Keith did something with The Winos in absence of a Stones Tour. Could also help the PR machine I think.

Got my copy of the vinyl LP. Noticed for the first time that Little Steven is thanked in the notes. Now he’s interviewing Keith on his satellite channel. What was his connection to the album? Did he help facilitate Patti Scialfa’s participation?

The live show (Hollywood Palladium) is in the pipeline from what I've heard. Of course remixed, remastered, expanded etc etc pp. - the full deluxe hoopla (and deservedly so, imo).

Is it just me? I'm listening to the album now and it's sounds quite different compared to the original release – or maybe rather my memories of the original relase. I can't compare the two versions right now (since the old version is in my other flat). Can anyone comment on differences?

Yes it sounds quite different -

here's the bonus disk:

Best outtakes since Foxes in the Boxes smiling bouncing smiley

That's interesting. In what way does it sound different? Did they change the late 80s sound of the original?

I only checked on spotify maybe slight compression - overall the instruments are more upfront - unsure if I like it. I used to love the sound of the original lp/cd ... perhapse just a matter of habit.

Yeah and i have this feeling that it might happen, Stones are out for the rest of this year, possibly ever, it's high time Keith takes all this new material along with Crosseyed Heart material and give it an airing before it's too late.

Although I got an email that it was delayed with two weeks I received my superdeluxe box this afternoon!

This is one heavy box!

Has anyone else problems too with getting the book/stuff out of the wooden box?

the new tracks are nice & bluesy ... but I am puzzled why b-sides were not part of this. Not too big a deal as I own them anyway (I know we had Key To The Highway, at least a live Gimme Shelter, and some Big Enough remixes -- not sure if I am forgetting something), but it is puzzling they did not include all this on the deluxe edition.

Key.. and Shelter live were b-sides for Main Offender singles.

The new vinyl remaster doesn't sound quite so different to the original as it might have ...which is a good thing.

It's a little lacking in "air", with a bit too much compression [always the case these days ] but it's OK.

[Modern remasters which I buy end up in one of two categories.
Ones I wouldn't have bought if I'd had the opportunity to hear them first...and ones that I'm glad to own as an interesting alternative listen.

This one is comfortably in the second category ]

Yeah hehe that's what i thought, probably drowning his sorrows that the tour is postponed and his old mate Mick is in a spot of bother.
Keith said he drinks when he gets bored, hope he does a few solo shows while he waits for Mick to get back in shape, that'll keep him occupied and out of harms way.
