A very quick review of the half time spectacle:

The Good - Mick did NOT appear!

The Bad - Everything about it.

Maybe a small step above last year (very small), but only because of that snazzy little guitar solo from the singer.

Back to the game. thumbs up
I agree 100% Mick deserve the best

How do they (the so called journalists) come up with all these stupid questions? And what's the point with journalists presenting themselves?
Always the same pattern though: Sir Michael is the natural leader, Keith mumbles something inaudible in between (journos laughing anyway...), Charlie glares, looking uncomfortable.

Nothing asked, nothing said. All look happy all the same...

A side note: It's against the protocol to address Sir Michael as Mr Jagger. In fact it's ill-mannered.

I'm totally ignorant why the Stones should have anything to do with this 'Super Bowl 53' I hear people talking here and there, but I'm glad spotting that old Press Conference of theirs I've not seen before. The guys - well, Mick and Keith - seemed to have been in good spirits there. The Twins putting a nice show together, supporting each other, Mick leading and Keith backing him by throwing one-liners. That question about The Stones and American main stream culture was a good one, and Mick's answer too.

Funnily, that of all of them pop band-like nicely standing next to each other, posing and answering to mostly silly questions, is almost a norm nowadays. That what they did in their early days too. But for years, especially during the 70's and the 80's, that sort of PR work seemed to be almost out of question.

One of the journalists was Alex Ferguson from Sky Sport. They didn't react to that name! grinning smiley

Great press conference. Hadn't seen this thumbs up

Furthermore, I read the football league is no longer paying the 1/2 time bands.
Yes, exposure $$
But the security and stress, I can see if you’re a new band starting out...

The NFL pays expenses and production costs, which possibly includes the studio time for recording. Recently the NFL wanted to charge artists to perform for halftime.

After viewing that train wreck of a half-time show yesterday, I am so grateful that Mick Jagger did not partake in it (not that I thought he would have shown up anyway). Don't worry Adam Levine, you will most certainly have the Voice to fall back on....

In a different way so are the people that took NOTHING - nothing was ever rumored or hinted at - and turned it into a steaming pile of fake news.

The Stones didn't have anything to do with it. Didn't, never were.

Dumbest thread of the year.

It's "dumb" in that way that it's based on a false assumption. Otherwise it's the usual banter...

It is. Completely unnecessary and founded on pure fiction; pointless.

Well, the headliners biggest blast hit is based on Mick Jagger.
‘Moves Like Jagger’
Therefore, not completely off base...

It's a song, not a guest appearance on a hit single.

I hadn't notices at the time, but it was pointed out by someone that the short snippet of Moves Like Jagger they played at the end - the singer never sang "Jagger".
"Moves like...moves like....". Not about to go searching it out, but if true maybe his feelings were hurt that Mick refused his offer.

Of course it is and always was obviously absurd, but people will fall for anything these days. Amazing that so-called stones fans would have bought this for a second

This topic stared because Maroon 5 has a tune called Moves like Jagger. Thats why. I never understood why also. One poster stated it would a good time to talk about the new Stones tour. Um....what?

This topic was started because a pop culture website "exclusive" claimed Maroon 5 had invited the Rolling Stones.

Note the caveat in that initial post...

Well, at least it made me want to go and see the Stones' performance again: not bad at all!

My first "bootleg" recording (and I think I was also the first one to share it here on IORR)!

By the way, I lost the file I uploaded at the time. Does anybody have a copy of it?
