Boston and NYC are not "close" to Canada (neither is Chicago), if you consider driving less than 6-10 hours "close" that is.

Chicago, New York and Seattle are right on the border.

In Europe, several countries didn't get a show.

Do you own a map?

Chicago and NY are NOT "right on the border"...

It is hard to visit Canada on a tour that is named "US Tour 2019", and with a logo including the flag of The United States of America...

I remember back in 1994, the tour came via Seattle USA and ended in Vancouver Canada. They were sold out of Stones tongue pins with the Canada Maple Leaf. Then the people at the merchandise offered the US flag pin. Nobody in Vancouver took that pin for some reason. So I guess there is a difference. They do only have to make one pin for this tour may be.

The Pin has SPOKEN!!!

hahahahahaha!! Good one.

Maybe the Stones promoters were "offended" when the changed the words to the Canadian national anthem to be politically correct, or "gender neutral." Even I was shocked when I heard it at the hockey game. Is there anything immune from all this pettiness.
The answer to your question is NO. Please save us from the people that want to save us from everything everywhere all the time.
Changing "sons" to "us" in the national anthem. That outrage was years ago but it was so traumatic some people haven't quite recovered apparently. Nevertheless I doubt it played a role in the Stones' current touring plans.

I find it interesting that there exists outrage amongst some, (some not even Canadian) that the lyrics of the national anthem revert back to a gender neutral slant, as was originally written/intended.

So, for the traditionalists amongst you, perhaps you can find solace in the fact that by going back, we're going back to a 'kinder, gentler, more inclusive' tradition?!

Yeah, I didn't think so.

[globalnews.ca]

feel free to continue pontificating from your armchairs...

Since you asked...To change it in today's world looks like a sellout to me. I think it's an insult to the men and boys. I don't see a "wo" before "men" in this Stones song. Let's not forget who has been on the front lines throughout all of history. Mick and Keith didn't.

from Highwire:

We walk the highwire
Sending the men up to the front line
Hoping they don't catch the hell fire
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire
Sending the men up to the front line
And tell 'em to hotbed the sunshine
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Do you think they are going to play ‘Highwire’ in April? No.
I didn’t mind when ‘Under My Thumb’ was mixed around pronouns 2018, as it was done cleverly.
I noticed Hyde Park 2013 ‘Emotional Rescue’ had some shifts in lyrics similar.
First time I noticed, ahead of the curve back then, seems the corrected-ness craze has been the last few years. Personally, I have bigger problems than he/she/it.
And agree ‘Highwire’ should stay ‘men’.

‘Emotional Rescue’ original lyric:
You think you're one of a special breed
You think that you're his pet Pekinese

‘Emotional Rescue’ lyric sung live 2013 Hyde Park:
You think you're one of a special breed
You’re gonna make me go weak in my knees.

I agree...if it means that much, suck it up and go.

I was just pointing out that people don't really seem to have a good grasp of geography/distance. If folks are planning on driving, they shouldn't be under the impression that NYC, Boston or Chicago are just a hop-skip-jump to the closest Canadian city (or even the border).

The idea that we 'expect' the Stones, at this point in their illustrious career, to come to within a city bus ride of all their fans is ridiculous. I'm in Vancouver and I'm going to see them in Seattle, for $29. My 10th show and I'm thrilled.

I said "fairly close"
Montreal to Bosten: 495 Kilometers
Montreal to NYC: 600 Kilometers

i.e. less than the distance between Hamburg and Munich or between London and Edinburg

Toronto to NY/ Boston is 800/900 km respectively. 9-10 hr drives without taking any type of traffic delays into consideration.
Toronto GTA population just under 6 million. This is a big city tour leg. Also as mentioned in prior posts, the exchange rate is not desirable to see the show in the states. Not as much of a travel challenge for concert goers of Vancouver. The show will go on just a lot of pissed fans in this region. As BV stated this ended up being an American tour not North American.

Not the album release date surely but seems a little strange to add shows now but maybe they do add more.

...Maybe they will add a gig, or two, in Toronto after their last gig in Chicago?

Wishful thinking. They use to do 14 shows. Now it is 16, and they have a fixed schedule. You can't just add a week or to with a touring crew just like that. Contracts, venues, hotels, lots of logistics.

Sometimes wishful thinking works, apparently...
