We all know the Beatles met Elvis. Zeppelin met Elvis in the 70s after one of his Vegas shows, but did the Stones ever meet him?

I guess for Mick and Keith (and many people) Elvis, musically died when he joined the Army.
Their 'idols' were more Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and the old Blues guys.
They would have little time for his 'Vegas years'.
I mean can you imagine the Stones ever doing Vegas? Far too show biz.

Youre kidding, right? The Stones' M.O. in the last 20 years has been closer to being a 'Vegas' style act than anything else. Aside from a couple of attempts to push their last record in the last year or so, they've barely performed any blues songs on a concert stage for decades. They're more a brand than a band.
For what its worth, Elvis spent far more time on the road in his later years than he did playing Las Vegas.
If the likes of Prince, Elton and others could do seasons of shows in hotels there, then the Stones would do it in a heartbeat if it was practical. Its easy money. The only reason IMO why they dont is that theyre semi-retired from touring and dont play more than two shows a week.

ive never got why elvis was so popular.
according to most polls.
3 biggest selling acts of all time were the beatles michael jackson and elvis.
dont get it, they all overrated.
elvis never wrote a song in his life, was an average singer who just happened to wiggle his hips a bit more than most.

Elvis really disliked the Stones especially Mick. He thought he was gay and that the Stones were promoting illegal drug use (two big no-one in Ep's book).

i never said the beatles, michael jackson and elvis went good.
i think people have misunderstood my comment.its just in my opinion they are not the best 3 artists of all time.
the beatles had some great songs, but a lot of very average ones too. and many that wouldnt sound out of place on a childrens tv channel. yellow submarine sounds like something from a kids panto. the were good, but a lot of their songs escape critisism in a way that a lot of stones songs dont.
michael jackson, was ok, not my cup of tea, whenever i get into a debate about him, people say yes but hes a great dancer, maybe so but we were discussing him as a singer songwriter, he is way overrated.
and finally elvis, is he really that good to be joint 3rd in the biggest selling artist list, i think not. couldnt write a song for a start, sang average stuff others wrote for him.
the rolling stones are better than those 3 in my opinion. with many great underrated songs that never really got much credit. the stones had overrated songs too. its only rock and roll and start me up as good examples.

Wait a minute...promoting drugs was a no-no...or taking drugs?
Elvis was a pill-popping junkie for most of his career. Isn't that what killed him?
