I couldn't make tonight's show but I guessed that he and Macca would be cooking something up together when they met at Mick's party last week!

When I saw Macca at O2 in 2011, Ronnie also guested and they played Get Back then as well (no Ringo that time, though).

Cool. Wouldn't you love to see a show where folks from back in the day got together and just played songs from their histories, swapping stories as they went around introducing their songs? Sort of like a singer/songwriters circle, where everyone gets a go at performing and joining in with others. I think it'd be a lot more interesting than hearing one band or performer go through their hits and most well-liked songs for the umpteenth time.

As I've pointed out many times, I've NEVER seen Ringo after the Beatles ever play drums on his own. Obviously I'm exaggerating when I say that that means he can't, and I do love the man, but I've never seen him drum on his own after 1970 live. I genuinely wonder why.

I think Joe had the order correct when he titled the thread..
Ronnie with Paul and Ringo.

How amazing is it that in what is nearly 2019 we not only have these amazing legends sharing a stage, but rockin' it and looking/sounding great!!

Interesting. I don't think there have been too many opportunities...all these years, he's either performed at benefit shows (as part of a larger congregation), in guest spots with other bands, or with his All-Starr Band, where he's always had another drummer which allows him to come down front to sing. If you think about it, he's never been part of a normal self-contained unit after the Beatles.

I was there with our very own Wild Sliwowitz (Harmonica Player with IORR Band). What a night and what a moment. Ronnie came on first and we were jumping up and down. It just made us both yearn for another Stones' gig.

Unfortunately the last Tube headed West at 2345 with several thousand fans stranded at the O2 so we had a Stones at Twickenham-esque transportational nightmare as we fought for the few available buses. But I'm in such high spirits that I don't care.grinning smiley

I'll get home about 6am with work tomorrow but I can cope. A memory to treasure.
