What were the albums originally going to be called?

Ones I can think of:

Tropical Disease (EOMS)
Tattoo (TY)
More Fast Numbers (SG)

What other ones are there?

Cosmic Christmas (Satanic)
Back To Zero (Dirty Work)

Let It Bleed had a different title as well, but I can't remember what it was...

The one I heard about for LIB was " Automatic Changer " or "Auto Changer"

... which obviously has connections with the cover art but I don't know how much truth there was in this.

An earlier title for LIB was "Sticky Fingers" as mentioned in this interview with Keith in Disc and Music Echo from July 26, 1969. Start at the bottom of column 5.

A closer view.

That's really interesting.

I'd read that article before but hadn't clocked that bit about SF.
So why then was SF not used until the album afterwards ?

That's a puzzle .

This is great: cucumbers grow faster under certain music. I must do some further investigations.

Tattoo You was originally going to be called Tattoo, without the pronoun.

Was it Black & Blue that was originally called "April Fools"?

Maybe a follow up thread could be "What should this album have been called".

Then 40 Licks would be "Tired, But Prosperous"..

That's a puzzle .

In June '69 Mick was talking of releasing two albums that year, perhaps one was to be SF and the other would be Automatic Changer/LIB.

"Growing cucumbers" might be a good title.

Growing Oaks....good title for the new LP. Because an Oak takes a century to grow, just like a Stones album...
