Guests have really dropped off over the years. Gary Clark Jr is fine but Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran-pass.

We had James Bay at Twickenham, and Florence from Flo and the Machine at London Stadium 2. James was fine but Flo ...naah

Liam of course was far too big an ego to come on at London Stadium 1 despite a fine support set

Funny you mention him. Last time they played TD Bank North I was standing in the concourse with some friends just rinking a preshow beer and shooting the breeze when Wolf comes walking by with an usher. I asked him if he was going to sing with the Stones and he responded "not tonight maybe tomorrow". I went to both shows that tour and Wolf never did guest with the boys.

Would love to see George Thorogood open for them for old times sake but he also still puts on a great show.

MICK TAYLOR!! Mick would be the only guest that would raise the level of the performance. IMHO.

Tedeschi Trucks Band would be great openers for Jacksonville.

With both Susan and Derek coming out for "Sweet Virginia"..
(saw them do this cover at Red Rocks with the Woods Brothers (also very good) was fantastic! [www.youtube.com]

I saw Susan open for the Stones in Vegas @ MGM Grand. She was fantastic. I like Tedeschi Trucks Band fine but I prefer her on her own. Such a great singer & guitarist. She tends to get over shadowed on guitar in TDB.They are about as close as I can get to the jam band thing without getting ill, haha.

Agree whole heartedly. I'm much more of a Susan solo fan myself, but the talent on the stage with the whole band is amazing! Her guitar work has gotten progressively better over the years (how could it not I guess) cool smiley

James Bay was scheduled to play The Metro in Chicago in March but now that show has been postponed so he's a possibility.

Unless the names are Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor, Ernie Watts, Jim Price, Ollie Brown, Trevor Lawrence, Steve Madio, and/or Eric Clapton, I don’t give a damn about any “special guests.”

As far as opening bands are concerned some folks need to be a little more open minded I think...

[...as we're invited to be by the band's historically eclectic mix of supporting artists .]

In the past I've often been surprised by my own reaction to the support act.

Some that I'd expected to hate , I've really enjoyed and others which I had expected to love, I've been a little disappointed with.

Leave the preconceptions at home an see what they bring on the day. smiling smiley

the chicago shows need a blues opening act + a blues guest, of course.

Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson Brotherhood would be a fine opener. They did a decent cover of 'Sweet Virginia' the other night when I saw them.

It makes no difference who opens. You can have a puppet show as far as i care.

I'll take the puppet show.

When I saw the prog-rock band Yes in 1987, the opener was a Popeye cartoon. Review headline in the paper the next day read: "Yes Upstaged By Popeye Cartoon". lol

Again - KC and the Sunshine Band would be perfect for the Miami concert. Band is from the Miami area. For example he would play the following of many fun songs: It would set a festive mood in the right direction.

I'm Your Boogie Man
KC and The Sunshine Band

I'm your boogie man that's what I am
I'm here to do whatever I can
Be it early mornin' late afternoon
Or at midnight it's never too soon
To want to please you to want to please you
To want to do it all all for you
I want to be your be your rubber ball
I want to be the one ya love most of all, oh yeah
I'm your boogie man I'm your boogie man
Turn me on

I'm your boogie man I'm your boogie man
Do what you want
I'm your boogie man I'm your boogie man
Turn me on
I'm your boogie man I'm your boogie man
Do what you want

I'm your boogie man that's what I am
I'm here to do whatever I can
Be it early mornin' late afternoon
Or at midnight it's never too soon
To want to take you to want to hold you
I want to give me all all to you
And I want you to completely understand
Just where I'm at and where I am - oh yeah
I'm your boogie man I'm your boogie man,

I'm your boogie man that's what I am
I'm here to do whatever I can

I'd like to see The Struts again. I think they already opened for the Stones in Europe before but I saw them opening for the Who at the Quebec Summer Festival in 2017 and I was impressed. A really good British-sounding band, full of energy.

Brittany Howard singing Shine A Light ...
Good that it would be in a stadium, otherwise they'd blow the roof off!

I've seen some great ones over the years - Buddy Guy, Solomon Burke, Toots and the Maytalls to name a few, but the bad ones outweigh the good ones by a large margin.
Not expecting much for this tour, but am hoping for something decent.

please, in the name of humanity ... no guests. it'd be nice to have a good artist to open the shows, but no guests. people pay a lot of money to see the rolling stones. they do not want to see people that do not deserve to share the stage with the world's greatest rock and roll band. it brings everybody down. it makes people cringe. if you must, sure, bring a legend out. however, someone that no one wants to see? don't do it. forget about trying to appeal to teenyboppers. please, no.

Yes please - not only as openers, but also invite Billy Gibbons on stage to rip it up on one of their blues covers. Time to bring on that little old band from Texas!
On a similar note, I remember during the Licks tour I think it was, Billy gave Keith a loud fluorescent pink/red guitar as a gift, and Keith played it several times throughout the tour.
Bring on Billy! thumbs up

I'm gonna say it again: Drive-by Truckers!!!!! Barring that, I still also think Sturgill Simpson would blow people's minds. Ferocious guitar player & excellent song writer. Of course, I think at this point Buddy Guy would be incredible. & it would be a nice payday for Buddy. Much deserved. Just watched an hour with Dan Rather & Buddy. What a nice & humble man. & he hasn't lost anything post 80 in his singing & guitar playing.
