IYCRM and UMT -- twin babies

I was listening to "If You Can't Rock Me" -- one of my favorite Stones tracks ever -- and noticed that, if I whistle or hum the first 6 classic notes of "Under My Thumb" (ba-bada-bi-bapa, ba-bada-bi-bapa ...) they fit perfectly into the melody, especially during the outro.

Thematically they are related, too ... both glorious affirmations of independence and freedom.

Keith always says how all the songs are their "babies". Well, these two babies are beautiful twins.

Or maybe this is just really good weed.

If they put those 2 songs together as a "Mash-Up" it would be fantastic performed live in concert. It would be cool if they would do some mash-ups or medleys nowadays just to make the shows more interesting. The shows nowadays are a bit too predictable for me.

No mashups, please. They don't do justice to any of the included songs. Case in point, when the Kinks used to their 90-second versions of old hits (e.g., Well Respected Man, Death of a Clown, and later Apeman). It was nice that they'd acknowledge the older hit, but the versions were perfunctory.

Gimme Shelter is in the same key and chordal frame as Under My Thumb.

Under My Thumb and If You Can't Rock Me as similar? Well, that's like saying Sean Hannity is a journalist.
