I went over and said hello and told them i just picked up my tickets for the show the next day.
They were both very friendly and invited me to stay for a drink.
Unfortunately I had to get back to work.
One of the worse decisions I ever made in my life!

Met both Keith and Ronnie while they were doing signings for their autobiographies in London. Had to queue for about 12 hours or so for each of them but worth it. Shook hands with both of them and managed to crack a joke with Keith and make him laugh which is still a highlight for me now!

Interesting that very few people mentioning any meetings with Sir Mick.

Charlie Watts met and said hello and thanks when he was entering Le Captice
Restaurant in London near the Ritz hotel about 12 yrs ago. He was with wife and another couple.

NO Filter Paris. Keith was walking in the George V hotel lobby going to get in the limo, as a guest in the hotel I saw him walking toward me, could only say hi as he was being escorted to go out. No photos allowed in hotel, or non guests.
Large crowd ouside, Mick was not at the hotel, Ronnie was friendly outside to fans.

A friend of a friend of my aunt spent an evening with Ronnie in a bar. This guy is apparently a massive Stones fan and at one stage Ronnie said to him "mate you know more about the Stones than I do".

I met Keith, two things struck me, how small he was, and those eyes, that stare he has, man i wouldn't want to upset him

Yeah that's bad, the lure of a drink with the added bonus of drinking it with Keith and Ronnie, man that decision must come back at you like a bad meal.

Keith I met in what seemed like an "Ask Keith" come to life. He was talking about the intense times rehearsing "Carol" with Chuck Berry for Chuck's 60th birthday. I pointed out if they had just said what key to play in, they could have saved 20 minutes of glaring and Keith told me to f*ck off.

I met Charlie Watts backstage at the Blue Note in NYC in 1992. I asked him to sign a poster I bought at the gift shop. He said,"sure, give me a pen."I said I didn't have one. He said "You want me to sign this and you don't have a pen?" He turned around and walked back to the dressing room and slammed the door behind him. I was crest fallen. He then comes back out with a Sharpie and asks me my name. I said "I thought you just blew me off." He said "No, somebody had to get the pen."

Met Bobby in Columbus in October, 2012 after a Suffering Bastards gig... I bought a copy of his book and waited after the gig to get him to sign it.

When my turn in line came, I asked Bobby "When are The Stones gonna call ya to come for rehearsals?" The Stones had already convened in London for the O2 shows...

Bobby looked up and said "I always get the call, Brother!"

I shook his hand and said "Alright!"

Beyond cool... RIP Bobby!

Good lord, that may be my favourite Charlie story ever...well maybe second, the one punching Mick is pretty tough to top.

Spring '02 (late April) I was at home enjoying a day off (I live and work at Grand canyon National Park) when I received a call from my Boss...could I please come in that afternoon to do a private tour...I didn't want to thinking he needed me because I speak half ass Spanish and he needed the translation skills...always glad to take OT though I agreed and got to the Airport on time...getting closer to the tentative arrival time of the client my Boss joined me on the ramp as we waited...soon a private helicopter landed and a group of four people started walking towards...I looked and looked again not believing my eyes...it was Ron & Jo travelling with another couple...I put on my best professional face and welcomed them to Northern Az...after we had walked them into the terminal my Boss looked at me and said now you know why i wanted you in...we walked out to the tour van where I took them to another terminal where they did a private air tour of the Canyon...when it was over Ron came out and stood by the side of the van where I was waiting and said the others were browsing for t shirts at the gift shop but he needed a smoke more than a souvenir...we chatted briefly about what a fine day for a tour etc...I was still playing the part of not knowing who he was when another older gentleman was walking by us to enter the lobby...he stopped as he passed us, did a double take looking at Ron and said "Mr Wood" in a way that showed his disbelief and amusement at seeing Ron in front of an airport tour terminal at the Grand Canyon...he shook hands with Ron and nodded to me kinda shaking his head as he walked away...Ron turned to me and shrugged,laughingly saying "what'cha going to do?"...I smiled and said "Well for that matter then, I wasn't going to say anything but the first time I saw you play onstage you were playing bass"...he laughed and asked "You saw me with Jeff, where?" I told him it was in Los Angeles at the Shrine Expo Hall with Ten Years After opening...he got a big grin and started telling about touring with Beck...Jo came outside and he excitedly told her "Hey our guide here saw me play with Jeff!" She got a kinda so what look on her face and shook her head...the other couple (Brazilian if I remember right) came out and we headed into the National Park where I spent the next three hours with them (a three hour tour!) Afterwards I found out that Ron had just come out of alcohol rehab at a clinic outside of Tucson and then the 2002 - 2003 tour was announced in May....I saw the tour stop in Phoenix the following year...great times...

The closest I got was to fist bump Bernard at Stonesplace in Toronto in 2005.

That is sort of what happened with me too - at the bar, and he said that to me too in essence.

That was a long time ago. In '80 I think. In NYC. I was a lot younger and really not in best shape. I hadn't slept or eaten in days - the thing was, neither had Keith but he looked better than me LOL. I was going to a late-late night club, up elevator in warehouse and he and others got in. Mind you - it wasn't Keith who gave me money, he told someone else to give it to me. I had been saying to him that I liked his leather and needed one just like that, and it was kind of a joke, where he said "we'll give you $50 and you can get one yourself". He said a lot more but I couldnt understand a damn word he was saying.
I also spent several days with Anita. Now those were no fun at all. She was a dragon.

They may not have been fun, Palace Revolution 2000, but I'd love to hear about your days with Anita.

I met Ronnie & Bo Diddly when they were touring together in 84 or 85.

Would have been 1987 or 1988 for The Gunslingers.

I'm pretty close to Mick and Keith. Should I be talking about it? They never told me not to. I guess it's my choice. I don't know Ron well but when Keith introduced me to him he kissed me on the cheek. The new songs sound great. They never give me money, rather I wouldn't accept it. By the way Keith's assistant in the elevator who handed you money was probably Gary S. or Roy M.

Met Keith and Woodie in 2006 in Seattle.

All were very nice.

always like the stories that come with this thread subject. i live for the stones and would love a picture with them, but gotta admit i'd be a little afraid to meet them, too. what if they didn't take a shining to you, or it was during a tour and they were getting hassled and you were on the receiving end of a classic mick: "F**K OFF!". this is where being a hot babe solves any potential problems.

Met them in the 70's.

But thinking back I'm not shure this was really the same band.

I met Mick in Milano, out the hotel the night before the gig in 2003. we were very few people there, and after waiting for somebody to come out near the parking lot for a couple of hours he came out alone from the hotel door, to be picked up by a car. I run towards him, and stopped 3/4 mters from him (don't know why, I could come closer if I wanted, no body-guard or whatever securty there). he saw me and stopped before entering the car to allow me to take a picture, but my hands were shaking too much, so he smiled, said "ciao, ciao" and got into the car. I couldn't take that picture.

4 years later, this story allowed me to win a contest by an Italian newspaper whose prize was the ticket for the gig in Roma, and a meet and greet before the concert. in that occasion, I met them all.

I then met Charlie outside the Milano Blue Note when he came for a couple of gigs with his jazz band; got an autograph and didn't attend the gigs.

I met Mick Taylor in early 2000 when I was living in London,;I went to see him playing in a small club, took a pic and an autograph with him.

My meeting with Bobby in lieu of M, K, C & R was amazing, the guy saw Buddy Holly, played with the greats, i was freakin' out but managed to keep it together, he was so gracious i won't hear a bad word against the man
