Not arriving in Chicago until the 20th for the shows, but for those there or in town on the 18th, this would be a great show to catch.

When are most of you planning to be in Chicago? The day before or the day of? The reason I bring this up is that I only live about 4 hours from Chicago. I can leave early in the morning & probably be in Chicago by noon.I already have my hotel booked, so no issue there. On the other hand, getting to Chicago the day before has its advantages, but that means paying an extra night at the hotel. I know, decisions, decisions!

There were reasons for it. They couldn't start early because half the audience got stuck in traffic jams and they couldn't play as long as they wanted because of the sharp curvew.
And US get longer sets anyway. I think they really wanted to throw in some of the songs they rehearsed the days before the Dublin show, like Monkey Man, Street Fighting Man and a few others.

Oooh I would love to see the Monkey Man debut, first time since 2007. The beginning of the song always gets me!!

Below some statistics over the last three decades. Gives an indication that the set list isn't getting bigger towards tour end. (Club and private shows not included).
History tells us also also that in the beginning some songs are played but dropped for the next shows.
Chicago will be interesting: tour opener, 2 shows and the world world is watching how Mick is doing....

In fairness, the Stones have been very lucky with weather in their 2012+ career. The only bad one I can think of is Porto Alegre in Brazil, when it tipped down. Home City of our very own Cristiano Radtke I believe. It rained a little during the show in Edinburgh last year (I was there) and Mick wore a hat for a few songs.
