I'm happy for this release, the VL tour was in my opinion the best tour of the Stones, I saw the second date in Basel and I was impressed. I still have in the eyes and ears the start of Charlie's drums concert on Not Fade Away was really exciting!

You have to wait pretty long ...

Well, if it is just a Japan release only, at least there are really good bootlegs of this MARCH 12, 1995 concert available for the rest of us.


While it is a Japan exclusive, it is available as an import in March 2019 so if you are willing to pay a premium price for it, you can get it via Amazon or directly from Japan.

Same flat and dull mix as the VL Uncut-release. Charlies drums sound like they're in a cardboard box, or rather; they ARE cardboard boxes. Too bad as the Totally Stripped from the same era (tour) is one of the best sounding live-recordings ever released by the Stones.

I know - but the normal version are listed mostly at the same time. So we have to wait - I'm not willing to pay the shm premium this time.

The bootleg recording is perfect quality and available for many years...why wait?? And the mix will probably be better on the boot.....I just don't know why The Stones have to *&^%$-up the mix on their live albums....

Charlie's battery sounds like that because he used a different snare drum on that tour.

The bootleg was quite good in terms of audio quality. Here's a comparison:

I even think the bootleg sound better, especially the overall balance of the instruments. The guitars are upfront (especially Keith) and the drums are crisper and less muddy. And Mick is not too loud which he is in that official clip. Well they messed it up again...
