Ronnie is brilliant to work with. He makes a song sound like a record after just one take. I bumped into Ronnie and his wife Sally who I’ve known for years in Prague recently and we talked about putting together a tribute to Chuck Berry.

“Ronnie said he was a lifelong fan and that he knew every single Chuck Berry song so he was keen to get involved and it went from there. I expect he will be performing some of the more obscure Chuck Berry numbers too.

This must have been in July this year when The Stones played Prague. Was Ben in Prague at that time? Since the time I saw him with the ABC&D I have been checking his gig list regularly if he would play Prague by any chance. He never comes here. There is no mention about him being in Prague this year anywhere on the internet. So I wonder what the occasion was. I mean why would Ben Waters bump into Ronnie in Prague of all places? Not that it matters really. I just hope I will have a chance to see him again one day, since he is absolutely brilliant. Having Ronnie or Charlie up on stage with him would be a nice bonus though :-)

Ben took a trip with a group of fans to see the Stones there!

Both events should be great. I saw Ronnie and Chuck Berry at the Ritz in NYC many years ago. Chuck introduced Ronnie as "Keith Richard"!

In recent history, post Barbarians, Keith never shows up at any of Ronnie's gigs.

Yeah, it's one of those things where I'd love to be wrong. Better to be wrong than disappointed.

If he does, I think he will be one of the 'very special guests' at the 2nd Ronnie Scott's show. The Tivoli show is effectively a rehearsal so at a guess just Ben & Band, Ronnie & Imelda May.

Very likely a big IORR presence at all 3 shows so we'll soon know.

Working in Swindon, I was very tempted by the Tivoli show but midweek gigs are a pain in arse for me if they involve travel. I did 11 shows on No Filter Part 2 and it ate most of my holiday allowance . Would still do it again though
