Songs of the Stones covering RnB / Soul artists: ups and down

How would you rate the Stones covering RnB or Soul artists, apart from Blue & Lonesome?
Depends of the songs, and also the years, since you may prefer it naive (early sixties) or raunchy (starting in the late sixties..)

Anyway, just list some numbers of a much more impressive catalogue..
- Berry's 1969 "Little Queenie" cover, is my favorite
- James Brown's "Try Me" recently discovered,. awkward...
- The Temptations "My Girl", has it own original feeling,
- The Temptations "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", fantastic live!
- Stevie Wonder, Paul Riser, Don Hunter, Lula Hardaway - "I Don't Know Why", has it own original feeling,
- Otis Redding' I Can't Turn You Loose...Never dig this one... They don't sound natural, IMO

The Temptations- Just My Imagination, one of their best RnB covers.

Just My Imagination is great - they gave it a completely different vibe, though I still prefer the somber/melancholy Temptations version.

I also love I Don't Know Why, and even though it doesn't stray too far from the original, it has a sizzling guitar solo that sets it apart.

Ain't Too Proud to Beg is another winner - the guitar break in the middle is very Stonesy, but again have to go with the original Temptations version.

I also like their version of Harlem Shuffle, though was surprised they would release a cover as a single. Can't beat the original though.

Favorites:

Just My Imagination
You Better Move On
Poison Ivy
Little Queenie
Ain't Too Proud To Beg
That's How Strong My Love Is
Let It Rock
Love Train

Not so much:

I Don't Know Why
Down The Road Apiece
Good Times
Come On
I Can't Get Next To You

Truly awful and possibly the worst cover they ever did:

My Girl

The O'Jays "Love Train" is one of the best songs they cover live.

A real great crowd song..
