One of the most famous Danish musicians, Kim Larsen, is dead.

He was the lead singer in Gasolin - one of the best ever Danish rock band

He supported Rolling Stones as warm up band in Nya Ullevi Gotenborg 1982.

I’m devastated by this. Like totally wiped out. To me as a Dane, it’s as bad as when Bowie passed. I’ve been crying a lot today.

Yes I remember him. And Gasolin'. "Hva gör vi nu, lille du" was a huge hit in the mid seventies. I think Kim even had a bigger mouth than Jagger.
Prostate cancer, diagnosed in January. Poor chap. Way to early to go. Only 72. Må han hvile i fred.

He played his last gig in Holbaek August 25. It’s not long ago, but it must’ve gone downhill fast from there. I only saw him once back in 2012. A rainy evening in Horsens, but everybody had a good time. He’ll be sadly missed.

I’m still depressed about this. It has hit me as hard as Bowie’s death. There’s really not a lot of Danish musicians that I like, but Kim was the greatest we had by far.

He was somehow like Keith, provocateur, expressed his meanings without filter, liked to smoke in public even it was prohibited, rejected a nomination from the Queen... etc. We will miss this kind of personalities when they are "gone".

Larsen was doing his biography the last 9 months of his life. The writer is finishing it up, and it will be released December 4th. That’s my Christmas present settled then.
