Does anyone think they'll have the guts to play this next Monday?

One can only hope so. Perfect spot to trot this one out. They need to play this and other new songs from ABB.

I highly doubt they will play Neo Con in any of the US. shows much less in DC.

If he ever does that, he'll have lots of balls. In Europe maybe but I doubt him playing it in the USA. Too bad though because it is a interesting song

Another good choice would be to play it at one of the two San Francisco shows.

He-Who-Will-Not-Be-Named is hated in DC, so I personally don't think it's much of a stretch for them to play it.

OT, but i saw keith in dc at constitution hall in '92. because of noise curfew downtown, the power was shut off on keith at midnight right in the middle of a tune. you could tell keith felt bad and as the drummer continued, keith just went and shook everyone hands in the front row.

In NYC more than 85% of the population are democrats, according to the polls.
They didn't play it there though.

I guess this song will be the new Highwire. Written, recorded, but never performed in front of an audience.
Maybe they realised that Mick should've spent a few more hours on writing the lyrics...

I do hope they do. And I most certainly hope they don't do it in Europe. I mean, it's an american politics song. It's all about the message. It's not really a great song. I'm from Europe, and although I'm no fan of mr. Bush, I don't see the use in bothering European people with it.

If they wanted playing this song on stage, they would use "Oh no not you again" as backing track. I think Mick wanted to put the words on a song which is not a live song. He is more quiet like that. He has been a little bit rebel with this song for the legend and promotion but don't ask him to play it on stage. Hard words on a medium quality instrumental part and he is not obliged to play this one live. If they don't play this song it won't be important.

I heard Mick wanted to play this song during this tour, but the sponsors were totally against it and the sponsors won.

Yeah I guess the sponsor's would be a pain in the ass here.

It'll never happen, but it would be great. They should play Highwire instead. The lyrics are better. Not as specific - they don't name names.

Keith wouldnt let Neo Con enter the setlist in the US. They're smart guys and they know how to play their audience, and the press. As far as the tune goes they've already achieved the controversy they wanted and our liberal media ate it up, as did the conservatives. So mission accomplished.

Alot of people have a sour taste in their mouths from the tune. Not everyone despises Bush or his policies, and I'm not afraid to say it. If Bush were a democrat you wouldnt see this kind of hatred in the US or globally.

BTW, incase no one has pointed this out (and I hate to get specific in politics cause I'm just painting a bullseye target on my chest...) but the democrats have one agenda: Whatever conservative republicans want to do, they're against. There is no real purpose of the party, except to be the antithesis to the republican party. We want security, they want socialism. We want our schools to be held accountable for pisspoor education, they want to send more money into the failing school system. We want the homeless to get jobs and bring themselves out of poverty, they want the government to support the homeless... Its permanent solutions vs the halfass way out. I for one dont want to throw money at the worlds problems, and thats socialism.

You know whats worse than socialism? APATHY!
