Keith’s Dress Sense
Posted by: Harlem Shuffler ()

From the coolest of the cool to go-with-the-flow turnip.

What the hell has happened? I don’t know how to copy and paste on an iPad but Keith in camouflage gear was the last straw.

Taste will always be subjective so the above is only my opinion but I still feel it needed saying. What are your thoughts?

I don't give a crap what Keith wears. There are bigger and more important issues in this world.

Then why did you read this post?

To be able to tell you he doesn't care about the topic you raised.

Why - something wrong with that?
It doesn't put you off ease, make you feel small, doubt yourself, or whatever like that, does it?

...Then why react?

I think he has kept the same style through the years. The unbuttoned shirt, the eyeliner, the scarves, the skulls and so on. Kind of pirate look.
The new things may be the bandana, the hat and the new set of teeth. To cover up the loss of hair (and teeth) which comes with age.

You must admit He did have a very serious style hiccup during the now infamous YSL blue jacket tour but happily this seems to have resolved

Huh? The question was asked as to what my thoughts were. So I merely took 10 seconds out of my day to express my thoughts. My apologies if my opinion is not to everyone's liking here. Carry on smiling smiley

That hurts, EJM. I loved that jacket. Keith needs to send it my way.
Any day now....

You're right Bloomer. Those silk bomber jackets were quite fashionable in 2016. And still is. Suits both genders. The YSL was quite pricey though - $2,700.
But you could buy just as good looking ones, without the YSL tag, for $150.

Then there was the Louis Vuitton shoot he did a few years back and probably got paid a few bob for. Nowadays I think he sometimes strives for the look of the old bluesmen.

Defining image is the 72 'Drug Free America' look. Archetypal Rock star and iconic.

That was for charity, wasn't it?

I agree, the new set of teeth, he looks like he got the teeth from someone else. With his fortune, it's a shame to have this kind of teeth, we see immediatly they are fake. They looks like the ones you can get in plastic for 1 euros in an Amusement Park.

He must have had 10 full sets of new choppers since 1974. Past a certain point, the more perfect and youthful false teeth are, the more they make the elderly wearer look even older.

In the late sixties/seventies Keith borrowed clothes from Anita, so if you want to be as hip as he was, just take some dresses from your wife, or girlfriend and wear them.winking smiley

The silk shirts (green and blue) he's been wearing since 2002 gotta go now.

Yeah, I've checked it was, Keith donated his fee to the Climate Project(there's a post on here somewhere about it)

Keith's dress sense is perhaps a bit like his guitar playing.

Eccentrically wonderful...but with the odd bum note !

Either he's had those bright green trainers a long time, or he keeps buying more of them.

Yes, but why bother?
I suppose though its better than those ridiculous hairpieces we've seen over the years, eg:
(Tony Curtis/Gary Glitter/Liberace/ Elton John etc)

He used to be The World's Coolest Ghoul. Now he dresses like what he is, a hipper than average septagenarian granddad. That teal bomber jacket was awful.
