Today i learnt that my dear friend and companion on many a musical journey Michael Williams a.k.a. The Bowl, a.k.a. Super Bowl, a.k.a. Fruit Bowl has passed away.
59 way too soon.
Bowl played a Fender Precision Bass 1978 Sunburst through a 1978 Fender Studio Bass Amplifier atop a Bassman Cabinet.
And he rocked
No more hearing him tell me that he should have got the gig in 1994
He loved watching Hampton 81 with me, used to borrow my DVD's all the time to watch because the TV changed signals and he couldn't watch TV anymore so it was Concerts and Action movies that sustained him.
He loved listening to and making music.
Goodbye My Friend, I'll see you again and we can play for eternity, maybe even convince Jack Bruce to pop in for a master class
So sorry about the loss of your friend, so hard to lose someone we connect with over music. At least now he's part of a mindblowing jam session going on somewhere up there.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend . This is truly the mystery of life as we know it today . Losing a loved one always hurts . Please try to remember his memory and the good times you shared , the laughs and the fun shared with the Rolling Stones and making music . May his memory be forever eternal . My deepest Sympathy and Condolences !
I had the privilege of joining this community just over Ten years ago. When i suffered a injury that kept at home for nearly a year and i looked for something to while away the hours.
I found IORR.org and the listings, discussions, trades, reflections and love of this music and also I found UrbanSteel who indulged my unknowing requests of how to access these download sites to get some Video content, I had always wanted to see Hampton since i read about it in a book, Urban helped.
Now today some ten years later, this community helps again.
Your messages of support, I have shared them with friends of Michael's and they are touched by the comfort of, to them strangers, to me my friends.
Quote schillid sorry for your loss... 59 is too young.
Yeah I'm starting to think the Stones have made a secret "longevity" pact with the Devil and they'll bury all their fans one by one. (okay maybe not the teens who saw them for the 1st time this year).
Mark: I am so sorry you lost your stones pal. These guys are thin on the ground and I miss mine so much nobody else seems to understand or get excited of what we know and love. hugs, Lisa rest in peace Dave my buddy 56 year old died 1-29-18. service 10-7-18 in shawungunks where his ashes will be on the rocks he loved to climb and did so well. i am sure he would have been your good buddy as well. we have to stick together. we are a rare breed. saddest when a musician passes. for real. xx
