Why not?

Why should 2 electric sound necessarily better than 2 electric and an acoustic?

I like it. The Stones have an extra acoustic on almost EVERY song, together with the two(or more) electrics. Rock on Blondie!

It is embarrassing.

I think having Blondie in the background playing acoustic is fine. When audible, I think it adds nicely to the songs. I think that’s why he's there.

Another reason he's there is to fill the gaps left by Keith and Ronnie. Neither can play decent rhythm guitar anymore. Keith can play the basic riffs and bluesy fills and Ronnie, well, I'm just glad when he's sober

maybe its for those sonically empty moments when keith & ron are mugging & posing instead of playing...but i'd rather have those empty moments then some dork playing (who doesnt belong up there)

Why is that? I mean, why the preference for emptiness over the additional guitar?

Is Blondie a dork? The dude seems okay to me. What am I missing?

Blonie plays acoustic on some songs, electric on some. Just strumming chords, basically. Why does he do it? Because Keith wants him to. He is not very high in the mix. Is Blondie a "dork"? No, he is a talented musician and a very nice guy.

I think it was super model Linda Evangelista that said a decade ago, " I don't even get out of bed for less than $10,000.00 per day."

For the Stones, add a few zeros. If you get rid of the gloss and the yuppies, you get rid of the $400(+) seats. Sound like a good idea?

You get rid of the $400(+)seats, you get rid of the extra zeros. When they are gone, the Stones are not going to bother to get up out of bed and come and put on the show that you want.

Part of it is for the money. But read it in their own words in "According to the Rolling Stones." They like the stadium extravaganza, they feel that they pioneered this part of the enetertainment world, and really thet basically still own it.

So what you are asking them to do is give up money and part of the job that they like. Let me ask you, if your boss came over and said " I want to pay you less and give up part of the job you enjoy," would you say, "yes and thank you?"

I really tire of the whining, because inherent in the accusations of the greed behind pricing structures and "the Vegas Stones" is a selfishiness that bascically says, "Screw the Stones, I want it my way." Or as you put it above...yuppies go home....as if being a "young urban professional" automatically means you are not worth as much, you do not deserve to see the Stones because you are preventing me from seeing them the way I want to, the way I think they should play.

It is 2005. MT is playing pubs, the Glimmer Twins are slick professionals,in arenas and stadiums. HIV and Herpes have done in free love, no one tunes in, turns on and drops out anymore. Their record tour grosses show that they, not us , know what they are doing. Anyone that does not like it does not have to go.

Lets add: James taylor on acoustic, Peter, Paul & Mary on backing vocals, Harpo Marx on Harp and jack-up the tickets to $750 per head....

I saw Brooks and Dunn on the Tonight Show a couple years ago. Not a fan or anything. Both Brooks and Dunn play guitars. If memory serves me correctly, they had three more guitarists in the background and a bass player. How complex is their music!?!? Also, didn't the Doobie Brothers have two drummers?
Had to laugh when I saw Spinal Tap playing Big Bottom with Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls both playing bass!
