Strange, yesterday in Germany I was told no BLURAY-CD combination. Today I bought it in Media Markt. Can't get the video bitrate but I can say it's 42 GB compared to the 7.5 GB on the DVD. I'm happy!

Man, why don't they let Bob Clearmountain do the mixes anymore. Saving costs? Bob Clearmountain knows how to mix the Stones but this Sam Wheat does quite mediocre mixes in my opinion. Compare VL Uncut to Totally Stripped, that's a difference like day and night. And this way the same tour with the same miking, so the raw recording should around the same quality. This phasey weid audience sound on VL Uncut isn't even there on the Broadcast so the Engineer definitely messed up there. Apart from the general muddiness. If you don't hear that it's muddy, your ears probably can't hear the high frequencies well anymore. An frequency spectrum analyzer shows that there's not much above 15Khz on this release.

Well, it's much more reverb on Totally Stripped than on Stripped because Stripped was mixed very dry to fit to the other songs from the studio sessions. In recent years they mixed many live albums with a lot of reverb and I even contacted Bob Clearmountain when SF Live came out and he wrote that Mick wanted it to sound that way. I think that's just a thing of preference. I really like those mixes when listening with headphones, not so much with speakers. But muddiness and phase cancellations that you can hear in VL Uncut are not a thing of preference. These are just signs of bad work.

Micks voice is distorted at times ... are all sound engineers deaf nowadays ?

Just picked it up at lunch and listened to some of the CD on the drive back to work.

The mix is definitely weird...the drums sound better than on the old VHS mix, but the guitars and horns are less prominent now, and the crowd sound does have a weird unnatural sound to it.

The Sound is so goddamn bad and the audience Sounds Like millions of Ants. The Band Intros are unlistenable. What a bullshit.

I prefer the Wolfgang's Vault steaming version over this official release.

I need to listen to the entire thing (only managed to listen to Not Fade Away, Tumblin' Dice and Satisfaction) but I may share your opinion.

I almost felt like I had cotton in my ears while listening in my car. The frequencies highlighted are really screwy.

Why is Bob Clearmountain not behind the board ?

The guitar sound is shitty, like on the bootlegs that once came out.

Crow, Cray, Bo - great!

Live with Me is really fast,
so is Satisfaction in the middle.
A great move to put it there.
The acoustic set is very fine.

But the Voodoo Lounge inflatables are beyond desription.
The look hurts today even more than back then.

The crowd is lame.

Anyway, a great show!

Btw: The Giants Stadium bonus...I´m in the crowd somewhere

It's a great version of Satisfaction...speedy and high energy.
