Saw "An Evening With Ron Wood" at Town Hall in NYC long ago. What a fiasco. Bill German did the programs and wrote about it in his book. Local radio was advertising it as "Ronnie Wood and Special Guests". People were yelling "Keith! Keith!". Ronnie got obliterated, drinking Rebel Yell out of the bottle. Was definitely...unique.

Yeah, and Sittin forgot to mention the times we saw about we 70-80 other Stones shows together in not so small venues. I won't even get into the solo shows, including what I think is the only US appearance of Bill's Rhythm Kings in a half filled Atlantic City casino club.

I think in order it’s:

1. Encore theatre, Sydney 2003

2. Glasgow SECC 2003

3. Rod Laver Arena Melbourne 2003 and 2006

4. Oakland Arena 2002

5. Wembley Arena 2003

6. Brisbane Entertainment centre 2003

Not sure if Rod Laver is bigger or smaller than Oakland Arena.

The Forum - L.A. (never seen them in a small venue)

My question would be, if the price was the same, would you rather be in the pit at a stadium gig or 2/3 to 3/4 back in the orchestra for an auditorium gig?

Attended both shows, about 400 people each show.

Only have seen Stones in big stadiums, unfortunately.

I did see:
Keith & Winos @ Tower Theater, twice (once each tour)
and Mick J w/ solo band (i.e. Jimmy Rip, etc.) at Webster Hall for the Wandering Spirit promo.

100 club Feb. 23 1986... I never got to see them in 1962 or 1963.. This
was the closest I was going to get to experience that kind of show.
First it was not packed like the 100 Club show of 1982, there was maybe
150 people at the 86 show (had room to walk around during the show). second a jazz band open the show.. Rocket 88 played first.. Third the Stones entire set list were all cover songs like Dust My Broom,Confessin' The Blues,Key To the Highway,Bye,Bye Johnny etc...Fourth they had different drummer sit in ,bass player like the shows in 1962. Big plus Clapton, Beck & Townsend all joined the band on stage at different times.They all use to come to see the Stones play back in 1962,
Sadly there was no Brian Jones or Stu...I doubt this kind of show will ever
happen again. To bad there wasn't a Stones fan there to tape the show????

Only seen them in arenas and stadiums...all 17 times and counting.

Do you have any memories you'd like to share ?

I didn't see them at The Cove but I am from that area. My uncle told me The Stones were staying down the street from him at Long View Farm (in North Brookfield, MA) and I didn't believe it. I was 12 at the time. My dad and I drove down the street and their was a cop at the end of this road that went to the farm. My dad talked to the cop and said it was true.

PS II: They didn't only do covers

I saw them in arenas but not in theatres or clubs.

The closest was Keith with Winos in the (new and very small) Marquee club at Charing Cross Road in 1992. And I saw most Ronnie's, Charlie's and Bill's (and Mick T's) club shows in London and around London but Keith's gig is by far the most memorable one.
