I would love official releases of rehearsal songs— the gems.

Seriously?

Who other than a few nerds and completists are going to buy a couple of cds of half-arsed rehearsals?

And rehearsals from a time when the shows themselves were pretty ropey at that

What next? Silkcut78's 'bathroom tape' from the Matthias-Keller in Vienna in 1982 of Keith and Ronnie harmonising on 'Sea of Love' whilst having a piss?

The only rehearsals I want to hear are 2012 with Bill Wyman, when they temporarily became the Stones again.

Maybe in 50 years a "from the vaults" release... scraping remnants from The Bottom of the Barrel.

Rehearsals are not unfinished uncompleted songs, like a lot of what’s floating around off the record that others really like/ not me. Nor do I like unofficial bootlegs of Mick too high/ even 1978 stuff I don’t really go to,
So QUALITY I DO care about, unlike you seem to be thinking I mean.

Rehearsals are longer versions OR UNPLAYED RARITIES not played on tour.
I saw and heard a ‘Slave’ (!) only ‘live’ ‘Slave’ I know about,
sounded awesome
I always want quality which is why I want RS sanctioned official because I trust the quality!

Bottom of the barrels?

What say you Bjornulf who has sat outside every tour rehearsal since invention
I sure do not think he is hearing ALL CRUD
for crying out loud
Every rehearsal I’ve seen thru utube, somebody here’s link,
has been quite tasty
and it would seem out of the 50 songs rehearsed
maybe 22 get the cut
the usual same

I think there’s gold in them there hills.

In fact, the re-issue Exile and Some Girls
with incomplete songs,
or Mick mumbling instead of singing the words we all know (oh, that might be a problem with rehearsal songs)
My point: don’t care for it, too glaring apparent it was in the can for a reason!

I think you are correct. Any RS rehearsals I have heard, Mick’s vocals seem
quite subdued - at least in the last twenty years or more. Seems he must be saving his voice for audience.

OMG
Anybody have a copy of THIS?

‘The song was rehearsed on 11 February 2014 in Paris, in preparation for the Rolling Stones "14 On Fire" Asia Pacific Tour, which started in Abu Dhabi on 21 February 2014. In attendance was special guest Mick Taylor.’

“Till the Next Goodbye" is a song by The Rolling Stones, featured on its 1974 album It's Only Rock 'n Roll.’

Never heard live to my knowledges!

I will never forget The Stones rehearsing Jump On Top Of Me at a soundcheck in Philadelphia... it was very good....but not as good as a show, because it was echoing through the arena venue.

The Sister Morphine disc of of the Babylon Rehearsals called Closer Than Close "the Toronto 1997 rehearsals volume 1"

That was very good, and interesting...but you know, stops and restarts....Mick singing at half intensity, etc. But I listen to it occasionally if I am working in my home office....Volume 2 has not surfaced as far as I know.

Tracklist
1 Satisfaction
2 It's Only Rock N Roll
3 Bitch
4 Let's Spend The Night Together
5 Rock And A Hard Place
6 Fool To Cry
7 Ruby Tuesday
8 Anybody Seen My Baby
9 Like A Rolling Stone
10 19th Nervous Breakdown
11 Star Star
12 Miss You
13 All About You

It IS an interesting idea, I'm not so sure about the commercial value....it's a rare listen item...not a background music item at a party thats for sure.

A 2 CD set of ALL new original tracks is in order.
They have the songs and need to go back into the
studio and go back to work.

I haven't looked at all the possible gold in the rehearsal setlists over the years, but based on this thread alone:
1. Ventilator Blues (but no Mick)
2. ‘Thank You’ Sly and the Family Stone cover
3. ‘Till The Next Goodbye’ with Mick Taylor

GOLD pot o GOLD

In 1978, the rehearsals for SNL were better than the broadcast!

If two or three of these turned out to be glorious it would be worth it. But I'll take the whole set. Gazza can sit in the toilet listening to a rehash of this last tour. A handful of these songs beats ANY Stones setlist in the last two decades.

Furthermore, if some vocals are missing from Mick,
according to his latest December 1st 2016 interview
Mick slyly acknowledges he is proud of the fact he is able to drop in different periods of his performances and adapt “makes me feel good, though, obviously.
‘Cause it’s like you’re doing a push up.”
(Yes, super fit Mick)

The Slave rehearsal clip was officially released. However, it's just the tape of the studio version + the band struggling to play along with it.

Alright current time:
The Rolling Stones did two weeks of rehearsals in London April/May 2018.
Omnibus Theatre, England, as reported by Bjornulf/ IORR website
(A sliver, surely, with 2 weeks rehearsal)
Bitch
All Down The Line
Dead Flowers
Cry To Me
Sway
Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
I’m Free
Play With Fire
Factory Girl
Loving Cup
Out Of Control

and, for good measure, please add 2018 No Filter 2 rarities
‘Neighbors’
‘Fool To Cry’
‘Shattered’
‘Sweet Virginia’

Audio only. Easy- peesy.
It’d be a fun party.
