Probably the Stones film with the most overdubs

most likely more than half of it has been recorded somewhere far away from Austin…

For that reason I never listen to it. Richards and Wood had serious problems at the time.

Well some songs are good, I really like YGMR as the opener and Sway is decent.

But the show overall feels a bit rushed and there are as mentioned some obvious overdubs like Keith's solo on ATPTB.

Also the b-stage set is very underwhelming.

Listen to those insane vocals on Satisfaction and Brown Sugar. Mick very obviously overdubbed those lol! Sounds great though!

Well, it looks good on paper at least.

Get Off of My Cloud is also definitely not his live vocal. It *is* a great studio take, though

This is new to me, as I thought the Stones never went to the studio to doctor this release. They openly left that work to the roadies (see the credits)..

I never listen to it due to obvious overdubs.

They sound not natural.

I regret it, because I really prefer how they sound live (it is rawer).

sounds like Keith is dubbed on Under My Thumb. Look at him and listen to whats being played. He's basically MIA in the the actual song but in the recording he's playing tons of licks.

I checked the credits but could not find anything on overdubs, altough there's clearly alot of them..

What I find curious is that the executive producer of the whole thing is a certain Ian Stewart?

Ain't Too Proud To Beg, you can see how Keith's hand is still around the third fret while the notes we're hearing are played lower down on the neck.

Right after the show this appears: «Additional recordings by Pierre de Beauport and Dave Rouze»...

I guess they didn't see the need to share the details any further smiling smiley

...Thx!

Yeah; I must admit it's buggin' me out too, that DVD -
quite a few (numerous actually) occasions where you don't hear what you see & vice versa.

I made a CD out of the Blu-ray soundtrack. Even with the overdubs/re-recordings it's a fun concert to listen to. As mentioned the setlist is quite veried and Jagger's vocals are very good.

Then again, that happens on lots of Stones-DVDs, as they often use footage from different shows (L&G, Live At The Max and Sweet Summer Sun spring to mind).

I occasionally listen to Bob Wills & Learning The Game.

Otherwise, I'm not interested because of the overdub overkill.

Really like this show! Learning the Game is great. Beautifull scenery also

Do you know for a fact that there are more overdubs on this one, compared to Ya Yas, LYL, Still Life etc? I ask because this was new to me.

I don´t care about overdubs. In fact: if they are usefull, they are more than welcome. I wouldn´t like to get a sweet summer sun with destroyed start me up and I prefer a redone beginning of waiting on a friend in "no security" to the bootleg St. Louis 1997-version.
I also prefer a nice reworked solo by Keith to a crappy live noodling in the wrong key.
cheers

It's a great show (despite loads of doctoring) all the way until the b-stage. I usually watch it all the way until they finish Little T & A. I will always argue to the end that the best spot for Dice is finishing the first part of the show before the introductions. Genius to have SOL following Bob Wills. A perfect setlist.

Overdubs are understandable if they're done by the same band member.

Getting guitar techs to do them is scraping the barrel.

I've only watched it once. The overdubs by Pierre are the lowest point of their entire career IMHO . I had doubts about them ever coming back after 07
