From same gig : "We nicked him from The Bay City Rollers - Ronnie Wood!".

The Rollers did have an original member known as Woody, so pretty funny, as was the Bonnie Prince Charlie Watts one.

I recall the crowd really enjoying these.

Love this thread.
Not an intro, but funny if you're from Philly:
"I was on my way to Wawas (sic) to get my hoagie, but then I hit a pothole. Charlie (Watts) was OK cause he gets his hoagies from Sheetz."

I always loved the intros on Welcome To New York especially of Keith before he rips into Bye Bye Johnny.

I used to like the Love You Live / El Mocambo "Ronnie Wood is gay" but I'm pretty sure I can't like that one anymore. I'm also guessing that will be removed from future releases, so I'll have to find another favorite.

Maybe it was a repeat, but it was at the Olympia Theatre show in 2003 that Charlie said that. It's on Four Flicks.

In August 2019, Mick introduced Charlie as "The President of the Mile High Club." Of course, Denver is known as the Mile High City and the show was at Mile High Stadium. Just a few minutes later, after Mick forgot to introduce Darryl, he handed the mic to Charlie who simply said "Darryl Jones."

Anyway, I had never heard of the Mile High Club. My brother from Denver told me what it meant. And I just looked in up on Wikipedia and found this:

The mile-high club is slang for the people who have had sexual intercourse on board of an aircraft in flight.

An alleged explanation for wanting to perform the act is the supposed vibration of the plane. Some say they have fantasies about pilots or flight attendants, or a fetish about planes themselves. For others, the appeal of joining the mile-high club is the thrill of doing something taboo and the thrill of the risk of being discovered.

Sounds just like Charlie to me.

FFS! You cannot re-write history and you cannot judge 1970's humour by 21st century values. I must be a dinosaur, as I still find it funny.

''Oh so young and fragile Mick Taylor'' , 1972. Also, not an intro but outro,'' thank you Mick, @#$%& great , love you'' , Jagger to Taylor after his great playing on Can't You Hear Me Knocking at Glastonbury 2013.

In Quebec 2015... ''On the guitar, le ''roi de la poutine'', Ron Wood (king of the ''poutine'' which is a local meal made of French fries + gravy + cheese).

Has Mick ever introduced himself to the crowd
David Bowie introduced himself a few times, which was always cool the way he done it

Five years ago today in La Plata, Argentina, Mick introduced Ronnie as "The Loco Gatti of the guitar", Charlie as "el Alfredo di Stefano de la bateria" (the Alfredo di Stefano of the drums), and... Keith Richards. It's my favorite introduction of all the concerts I've been, and this was the audience reaction when Keith got his spot. I'm very glad I witnessed this that night.

No, you're not a dinosaur, you're a free man and free to find funny whatever you want.

By contrast, anybody who allows the PC police to dictate what one is allowed to find funny or not has already lost control over one's own life.
