Charlie used to come up front, speak a little and introduce Little Red Rooster on the 1965-tour. Well-documented on Live In England '65. Good stuff! thumbs up

"And now we're going to play a song called 'The Last Time'.
Oh wait, we played that one already!"

yay we have a winner! thumbs upsmileys with beer

When did Mick first start intoducing the others?
I don't think they did it their earliest tours, did they?

The 71 tour in the UK is my guess

Probably one of the televised Voodoo Lounge shows.

As someone on here once said ( I can't remember who the poster was), Mick is a man who needs no introduction.

Chiming in kinda late here, but there was one tour where, after Mick introduced the others, Ronnie would take the mic and would introduce Mick, and this was a nightly thing, not just an anomaly, not just now and then, but at EVERY SHOW. Anyone else remember this? Don't remember which tour.

I can not agree on that Dandy. A disaster on almost all fronts. All these Keith clones never seem to remember that all that pirate dangling-dope pose comes much later , and is always and completely secondary to music, humor and intelligence and wit. The look is a result of internal choices and drives; not the other way around.

Quite funny and a clever one was Mick's introduction of Ronnie Wood in some Helsinki gig (can't recall which one - 95? 98? 2003?) as "England's answer to Andy McCoy". McCoy - best known worldwide as a Hanoi Rocks guitarist - is a sort of classical druggie Keith Richards pirate type/clone - even legendary Nicky Hopkins, who toured with Andy here in Finland during the early 90's, described him as "the most Keith Richards-like person I've ever met". Shit, the guy even looked more like Jack Sparrow than Keef ever did...(Funny though, even when those Pirates of Caribbean movies were shown here, some not-so-well-informed movie critics described the Sparrow character as andymccoyish...grinning smiley)

Here is Andy "Finland's answer to Keith Richards" McCoy:

Anyway, I guess for McCoy, a huge Rolling Stones fan, that of Jagger mentioning him while introducing the band, must be one of career showlights...grinning smiley But I am not so sure if Ronnie was very flattered...At the time Andy started to play the guitar, Ronnie was already a rock star... But for Jagger, like for most of the world, Woody might have been just another Keith Richards clone...smoking smiley

Funny story...I actually shared a cab ride with Andy McCoy in Helsinki about 20 years ago. He was drunk (of course) but still rather polite and friendly. I didn't really know much about him was until I mentioned it to someone the next day.

I like it when he messes with band members. From the glory years; like when it was Bill's birthday, and he tires to draw him out. Or in 82 when Bill had "Je suis un rockstar" in the charts he was pretty unmerciful on him winking smiley.

Yes, I vaguely remember at one of the VL shows in Oakland Ronnie introduced Mick as 'Marin County's newest resident' or something close to that.
