My daughter - from chilhood infuenced by me of course - would like to have a tatoo with a Stones lyric. Something filosofical...

My suggestion for her is: "I have my freedom, but I don't have much time"

I'm very curious about the suggestions of anyone in Stoneslan...

She got a mind of her own and she use it well.

If the tattoo is only going to be a lyric, I would recommend something from a song that resonates with her. So many good lyrics to choose from.
I have never been a big fan of just script.. but combining the lyric with an image, that works very nicely I think.

Here's a few lines that could would work well as a tattoo, and even better with an added image imo.

"I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away"

"I was crowned with a spike right through my head"

"If you ever meet the midnight rambler...
And he's pouncin' like a proud black panther"

Curious - how old is your daughter? Re a Stones lyric, there's only two that cover all the bases re life, love, etc., "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want". These seem to sum up the theme underlying many Stones songs. May she - and you - choose wisely.

Advise her to spend her money on something else. Stones lyrics for a tattoo? Bad idea and lame.

I wouldn't care if tattoos wore off after a few years, but this is not the case.

He's complaining about holding a poor hand of cards, full of nondescript 6s and 7s and 9s instead of higher value stuff. In my younger days I used to play whist with an uncle and aunt who often said that their hand had no "money" (good cards) and was all 6s and 7s - Tumbling Dice is full of card players jargon.

As for the tattoo, I like "she got a mind of her own..." but it has to be something she'll be able to live with all her life, so probably Bliss's advice is best: try it out with a temporary version first.

I wouldn't worry too much about what many are concerned about- how it's going to look as her skin ages- unless she places it on her neck or other loose skin area.
If she goes with only script, which sounds like the plan, it won't change much, if at all, as she ages.

As the proud father of a couple of girls and also the proud owner of a few stones tatts, I'd be more concerned about the lack of personal attachment to the tattoo itself.
If either of my daughters (or sons) asked me the same advise, I'd advise them not to. If they were already a big fan of a particular song or lyric.. then ..maybe.
A stones (or any) tattoo should be one that personally means a lot to the individual and not something they have to seek advise or suggestions on imho.

That said... I like this one, and with occasional touch-up, it will likely look the same at 80 as 18..

Sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how many end up with an error

No offense, but if it was a lyric that was "filosofical", you may not be the one to write it out for the artist..

always thought the phrase "6s and 7s" meant confused in England...i assume the added the 9s for the meter of the line.
