Of course those kind of enormous stages with massive scaffolding is history now. Now everything is built around huge video screens. The audience is the winner here.
Especially those on half distance. Better to look at a video screen than to stare into scaffolding and black tarpaulin...

I couldn't BELIEVE the way he was snarling his way through those lyrics...I've never seen him perform like that post-'89.

Zentgraf says it might come from East Troy.
Since they played 3 shows there it might be a solid option

That would make sense, as the intro mentioned ABC caught up with the band in the Midwest. It sounds like Mick says “Thank you, Toronto” in the last clip of JJF. ... I wonder what Elton John was doing in East Troy, Wisconsin. Playing an arena?

I loved this interview when it first aired. Philly '89 was my first Stones concert and this interview was after I saw them. It's was a reminder and still is of the excitement I had seeing them live for the first time.

Also I have never heard SFTD so good since. Mick was really getting into it and Keith was spot on with the solo. They were incredible in '89.

I can’t find the specific clip, but these East Troy shows were absolutely lit! Mick leaned into the music with his voice in a way that we seldom hear anymore (for obvious defensible physical reasons).

This is old stuff. I'm 68 of age. Nothing new for older fans.

They had a chip on their shoulder with something to prove again. We should be so lucky to have a tour concept now based around a new album. Not everyone's favourite time period but I did not mind. Ushered in the mega themed tour concepts with songs that hit radio play again.

Yes. Great tour, so-so album - but at least it was a new album, and I'd happily take that over the themeless nostalgia shows of today any time.
When the "newest" original song they play is 37 years old something doesn't seem quite right to me, but that's the way it is.

Alpine Valley is definitely in the top 3 of legendary venues to see the Grateful Dead at, it also happens to be the site of Stevie Ray Vaughans death...but I'm sure that's all in the wikipedia page somewhere.
