Wish folks would stop spamming these threads with Red Rocks posts. I agree it would be great, but I’m not gonna big anyone obsessing over my wish to see them at the Greek Theater.

Red Rocks ain’t gonna happen.

Sorry it bugs you.
Not sorry for speculating though, kinda what this thread is about.

Worth noting, that in 2015 they played a small theater just three miles from your beloved Greek Theater, so stranger things have happened.

The Greek Theater is an outdoor ampitheater w/capacity of apprx. 5,800.
While it would be nice to see the Stones there, doubt very much it would ever happen.
With any luck maybe the Hollywood Bowl again (capacity apprx. 17,500), but even that's being unrealistic.
Since this will most likely be massive stadiums, there's the Rose Bowl, Dodger Stadium, and the Coliseum - all of which they've played at before.

That's about as subtle as it gets grinning smiley. I was at the 2002 Licks show at that very stadium. I seem to remember going there on a treacle slow 'Rolling Stones special' train, crammed with fans, that took 2 hours to make the 30 mile trip from Boston. It seemed to spend half the time stationary!

I have a long time friend who lives in nearby Cambridge so I might end up at this show. He got the tickets in 2002 and came with me.

I signed up at 6am Eastern US time and got an email back from the Rolling Stones confirming I'm signed up. I just went to rollingstones.com again and signed up my cat and he got the Mick Jagger message. I hope one of us gets tickets.

Glad you signed up your cat, look at the Whiskas ad!

Foxboro Aug/Sep 2002 rehearsals memories:

I got to know they would check out the "big" venue. Then I hired a car, and went with two friends from Japan. We drove over to Foxboro, and sure it was the place to be that evening, as well as the next day as well.

Saturday August 31

Gillette Stadium was guarded like Fort Knox Saturday night. Nobody were allowed anywhere near the stadium, not even in the parking lot, not even on the connecting roads. The greatest rock'n'roll band in the world were putting their final touch on their "Licks" world tour.

The rehearsals were real loud, and could be heard 2-3 miles around the stadium in Foxboro. Local residents thought the Stones were on their radio, but they soon realized the band was on their doorstep reheasing.

The Stones brough back their backbone songs tonight, their warhorses. The sound was unique and the visuals were fantastic, Wherever you are seated in the stadium on Thursday, you will get maximum satisfaction. Monkey Man was a treasure, and Angie was sparkling.

Thanks for tidying up the tour threads, BV...

Care to offer any thoughts or insights into the Stones publicity that we're seeing, starting with Denver and Foxborough?

Foxboro' ... Goodness me.
Been there once; for a MLS game (saw New England Revolution beat Houston Dynamo 2-1) Great stadium; but a ***** to get to (if you, liike me back then, reside in Boston city centre and dón't have a car... like most of us, international RS fans.)

Why not Fenway Park, that iconic ballpark in Boston??

I have been off/ not following a few days, can someone please explain the
‘sign up’ ?

I don’t see any emails from RS.com, and goodness knows I’ve purchased enough for them to be familiar with me.

What’s the deal? I need to ‘check’ something? Is there a contest? WTHECK MAN.

Join the mailing list on rs.com to get info «in advance».

However, that info will float around on Facebook and twitter simultaneously, as usual, I reckon smiling smiley
